I don't like this movie cuz of the ending. But, i really enjoyed following along as you put the clues together. I'd enjoy seeing more crime/detective movies.

When the vast majority of movies have a happy ending, I find it so interesting when a movie decides to go all in on such a bleak note. It's fascinating and courageous of the film makers. I love movies that make you think like this. And for some further suggestions: - Pan's Labyrinth - The Nightmare Before Christmas - Children of Men - Arrival

Chris

In the end John Doe won. There is an alternate ending to this movie, Somerset shoots John Doe before Mills does there for stopping the cycle of sin that he was going for.

Matthew Finn

You’re right about Mills potentially getting off easily (legally, at least - I’m sure they can sort something out). Psychologically though - he’s not going to get off easily at all!

Duncan

How could you forget about Spacey’s greatest ever movie?? See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989) 😀

Duncan

Great film, absolutely pitch black. Hillarious reaction as usual too - particularly the climax (some emotional exhaustion there! 😂). Not to sound like a total psychopath, but I’m fine with John’s motivation for Greed and Sloth (even if he did go a bit over the top). The rest of them - I think he might have crossed a line!

Duncan

It's funny Jon says people don't care about sins happening everday because the cop david mills will probably get off easy after killing that guy too. The killer Jon is right. People Sin but death isnt the cure. If he actually read the bible he would know sinners just go to hell/lake of fire. So he is right but his method is wrong by moral standards. Love your reaction!!!! Yes this movie makes you think. hahaha

N2Joker

It is hilarious how bad your guesses are. Every single movie. Really cracks me up. I love you guys.

Keven Spacy was the perfect pick because he is in real life a massive narcissist. The actor turned out to be a horrible person in real life.

Eric Muirhead

Poor Hella, at the end of the movie we can feel the burden she carried, lol Great movie -Great reaction Munchies. I was not expecting this movie. My suggestions: The Nightmare Before Christmas and Eye See You ( 2002 ) also known as D-Tox ( Sylvester Stallone ) Thanks.

The ending was such an emotional blow the first time I saw it, simply an amazing movie. Great reaction and very good analysis of the movie at the end.💜 You were so good that there is hardly anything left to add.😅

This movie is really intelligent. While Fincher usually gets all the credit, as directors do, the script by Andrew Kevin Walker is the real star here. It's brilliant the way the story makes a complete circle at the end, but it's also genius how each of the three main characters have their own philosophies about how to handle evil. Mills wants to fight evil and believes he can make a difference. Somerset has grown apathetic and doesn't really see the point any longer. He realizes once he catches one killer, the next will emerge. John Doe wants to punish any evil/sin with cruelty and violence. He believes such extreme measures are the only thing people will understand. There's also a lot of literature mentioned throughout the film, but the main ones are Paradise Lost by John Milton and Dante's Inferno. Both are epic poems that discuss hell and punishment. I thought it was really funny that Mills reads the CliffNotes to these stories. Cliffnotes are a summary of texts and written in straightforward, easy to understand language. The epic poems themselves are a tough read. I think we're supposed to take from this that Mills simply isn't that smart. Another film that makes a perfect circle like this film, but is much more uplifting is KNIVES OUT. Gone Girl directed by Fincher is also great. I hope the Munchies will watch that at some point.

Agreed!!

Great reaction ladies. The acting performances in this movie are one of the best. They all did a phenomenal job. I think this was your longest post movie discussion yet. 10 minutes. It’s a disturbing movie with an unhappy ending, but it always causes a lot of discussion. Great script as well.

Noal McInnis

Gone Girl would make a great film to watch around Valentine's Day.

Steven Roy

He would NOT likely get much punishment for shooting the killer. Definitely use temporary insanity defense and he's a cop so the system would be pretty sympathetic.

Manospondylus

“You know, this isn’t going to have a happy ending.” ~

Proto Type

"What's in the BOX!" One of the most repeated lines from a movie.

Noal McInnis

Movies with 'Seven' actors I think you would like- Brad Pitt - 'Meet Joe Black' (1998) Morgan Freeman - 'Million Dollar Baby' (2004) Gwyneth Paltrow - 'Sliding Doors' (1998) Kevin Spacey - 'American Beauty' (1999) Also, a different kind of Serial Killer movie - 'Monster' (2003)

Wrath means violence fueled by extreme anger in the name of vengeance.

29:08 "Spiderman?" lmfaooooooooooooooo 😂😂😂😂 Hella is so funny

Paul De'Armond

The three of you need to watch "Gone Girl" at some point. The same Director for Fight Club as well. Another great crime/thriller!

Daryl

Nine Inch Nails intro music takes me back.

Manospondylus

A leather bag is nothing, nor is a bucket, nor a brain. They only become useful when something is put into them.

Imperial Mort
