This could have been so great had the studios not got too involved and ruined it. The theatrical edit was incomprehensible and they removed all the motivations, back story, and reasonings, and it just became a mindless generic superhero movie.
This edit is a million times better but it’s still held back unfortunately.
The story arc where this was going is one of the best ever in DC comics and now we will probably never get to see it on film

I liked them, each and everyone ... To each his own ...
Partly because I am European maybe, we don't get comics from either DC or Marvel here. Well not readily anyways. So growing up my only reference was the Superman movies. I suspect nowadays things are easier if you are into those comics but for me, I can honestly say I never saw them.
The only other mild interactions with the Heroes trope was ... City of Heroes. The now defunct Cryptic Studios/NCSoft game. Followed by the tv series Smallville (and boy was I hooked on that)
What I am trying to explain is ... background and experience shapes you. So it is too with movies.

just a series of bad bad movies, only exception are the 1st WW and Aquaman movie
