King of Silla

King Jinheung (진흥왕) is regarded as one of Silla's greatest conquerors. As a cunning and ruthless monarch, he always secured the triumph by carefully manipulating the political relations between the neighboring states.
The king's regalia is based on the artifacts from the Cheonmachong (천마총) tomb, which dates around fifth to sixth centuries. Over 11,500 artifacts were found from the tomb during its excavation in 1973. Currently, the tomb is open as a museum.
For next month, I am planning to draw the monarchs of other Korean kingdoms!
