So, you know (with one notable exception) how the episode is going to end. Watching Columbo manipulate the perpetrator to eventually build the case against them is exquisite. I love when he's at lunch or dinner with someone and hardly, if at all, touches the food. Awesome.

When Universal asked if they could keep the car, the original owner saod no and he took it back. It's estimated they paid over a million dollars in rental fees for that car.

I remember the first time I saw the movie The Great Race (Natalie Wood, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon) and saw him as Jack Lemmon’s sidekick. It was the first non-Columbo role I think I saw him in and my young brain took a little bit to understand he wasn’t going to be solving a crime that time around.
