Is it the feeling of freedom or the waves of comfort that wash over our naked skin as we drink in the sun and are continually refreshed by the never ending surf of saltwater?
Maybe it’s the idea of being naked in public. That naughty feeling that someone might be looking even though they’re not really supposed to. There is certainly a deeply rooted taboo about public nudity in the United States.
Then again, folks have been bathing nude in rivers and streams as a means of simply cleansing their dirty bodies since the dawn of time. Or so I gather...
As I recall, I remember reading about folks during the Middle Ages believing that the water would kill you. Folks back then rarely bathed. They believed that one could catch their death if they exposed their naked body to water. They believed that their undergarments held the power to protect them from bacteria and illness and in fact, these undergarments were rarely, if ever washed or exposed to water. . Have you heard of this?
Now Back to my original question, why do we love skinny dipping?
I absolutely live for the feeling of being submerged in warm ocean water. Feeling my jiggly parts jiggle in the waves and the little fishes nibbling my toes as they hide from larger predators in my shadow.
But even better than that, is feeling my skin on my partners skin while we wash away our worries in the water. Especially if the water is chilly, the warmth of joined flesh is soothing.
Do you prefer the chlorine pool, saline pools, lakes, rivers, ponds or oceans for skinny dipping?
