Chapter 667 - Do a Valeure
Added 2025-05-02 14:25:16 +0000 UTC[Sovereign of Unshackled frames]:
The influence of the Sovereign of unshackled frames is dependant on the target’s location within the aura.
Effects from the Far Aura are also applied to the Field Aura and Close Aura.
Effects from the Field Aura are also applied to the Close Aura.
Far Aura Effects:
Bones are 10% sturdier.
The Sovereign has weak control over all inert bones.
Skeletons regenerate 0.5% maximum health every second.
Inert skeletons will become Skeltal Thralls and fight for the Sovereign if need be.
Field Aura Effects:
Bones are 40% sturdier.
The Sovereign has very strong control over all inert bones.
The Sovereign has weak control over all bones.
Skeletons regenerate 1% maximum health every second.
Friendly Skeletons and Skeletal Thralls gain [Exalted Exoskeleton].
Skeletal Thralls gain [Bone Arsenal].
The Skeletons of ennemies under 25% health will try to free themselves to become Skeletal Thralls.
Close Aura Effects:
Bones are 100% sturdier.
The Sovereign and nearby skeletons regenerate 5% maximum health every second.
The Sovereign has the Principality of Bones.
Additionally, the Sovereign of Unshackled Frames gains acces to the Painted halls.
Bones and Skeletal Thralls may be stored in the Painted halls.
Skeletal Thralls may not exit the Painted halls.
The Sovereign of Unshackled Frames gain the special skills: [Unshackle the halls];[Blessing of permanent frame]
[Unshackle the halls]:
Release all Skeletal Thralls from the halls, they gain [Skeletal Frenzy], deal 20% more damage, and will crumble to dust after 24 hours. Released thralls cannot be brought back to the halls.
[Blessing of permanent frame]:
Bless any inert bone entity to become a blessed skeleton frame.
The blessed skeleton frame cannot move, is 1000% sturdier, and has higher magical resistance, higher physical resistance, status effect immunity and displacement immunity.
Only one blessed skeleton frame may exist at a time.
“Woah, that’s a lot… Wait, no, I’m not even done reading…”
[Skeletal Frenzy]:
Severely limits cognitive ability.
All physical stats are doubled.
Will try to free other skeletons from their ‘shackles’.
[Bone Arsenal]:
Bone-morph into a random combat-ready skeletal thrall. Single use skill.
Possible morphs include:
-Slasher
-Guardian
-Archer
-Knight
-Lancer
Many Thralls using [Bone Arsenal] at once can rarely result in the creation of a single Bone Colossus instead.
“I… Can I get an estimate on how big the the aura zones are?”
‘Due to achieving your third specialization with the Fae ancestry, you now have acces to the Aura stat sub-menu’
[Aura]
Aura: 1261 (435 * 2.9)
Aura growth: -Unable to estimate, please level up-
Aura modifiers:
[Quintessential]
[Mana manipulation]
[Dreams Of a Demon which Gods Envy - March of the Envoy]
[Pillar of creation]
[Shroud of Ackenohh]
[Avatar of Zeus]
[Fae Ancestry Specialization]
Currently Active Aura effects:
[Mana sense]
[Lingering]
[Demonic Aura - I win, you lose]
[Sovereign of Unshackled Frames]
Estimated Aura range (distance from mana heart):
Close: 12.6 Meters
Field: 126 Meters
Far: 3.78 Kilometers
“Holy shit… That explains so much! So [Quintessential] was actually an aura multiplier? The aura range is just the range of my mana senses and the delimitations line up perfectly with the breakpoints of how well I can see things with it… I’ve been using my Aura this whole time and I wasn’t even aware! Hmm… Pillar of Creation extends the range of my Aura by up to a hundred times when it’s active, then?! That’s… I’m glad I didn’t manage to get rid of it.”
Sofia lost herself reading the skill and the Aura menu over and and over several times. There was so much to unpack she did not even know where to start.
“Wait a minute… Where is the mana cost? THIS IS ALL FREE?!!!”
Sofia gulped audibly, “It’s time I start to seriously invest into Aura.”
“The lingering effect is from [Dodge - Me], can I finally get to know what it does?”
[Lingering]: Some effects of you aura linger on their target for a time even after they exit the effective range.
Currently affected:
[Exalted Exoskeleton]
Bone sturdiness bonuses
Regeneration bonuses
Skeletal Thralls
That does answer a few of my questions… Looks like I’ll have to do some testing for the duration.
“Principality of Bones… Principalities are the level 450 bonus from the admin key… I suppose I got one early? I don’t feel any different, strangely enough, it’s just like I still have the old usual Bone dominus…”
There was no mention of her being able to summon the exoskeleton anywhere in the skill anymore, so she tried that first. And it worked just as well as usual, pulling the bones from her bone storage to create a form-fitting bone armor and skeletal wings. The process was a bit faster than usual but it was still the same thing Sofia was used to.
That felt different somehow… Because of the Storage?
Sofia focused trying to acces the bone storage, it was much slower than usual. Concentric circles of mana appeared around her, and after a few seconds, she disappeared.
What in the Lords’ names…
Sofia had entered the Painted Halls. She was in a very tall square-shaped room, its every walls made entirely of different shades and shapes of bones. The pillars were in the shape of stacked skeletons carrying each other, ornaments in the shape of bent skeletons acted as arches holding the ceiling, everything was bones. Each wall was decorated with a painting of dried blood on sculpted bones.
On the wall at the very back of the halls, the first painting was an image of Sofia herself as an infant held in her mother’s arms. After that, each wall’s painting was an image directly from her memory.
Mom…
Her mind almost blanking out, Sofia walked through the halls, looking at each wall. The halls were a succession of square rooms, each decorated with all of the most vivid memories she had. For example, in the first room, one wall was an archway leading to the next room, while the other two were a painting of the mountains rising to the sky at the start of Sovuln’s ebb, and a painting of her old recurring nightmare in which Saria gets engulfed by the waves.
The floor of the halls were covered in vast amounts of neatly organized piles of bones, which Sofia recognized as everything that was previously in her bone storage, and as there were quite a few rooms, the place was quite spacious. The very last painting of the last room showed the eye-covered core of the abyssal god getting struck by the admin key.
“That’s where it ends… Are there going to be more rooms added when I make more memories? This is more space than I need already… I never expected the bone storage to be like that… This must be in the Margin, I assume. I don’t feel anything outside… How do I leave?”
The answer to that question was simply the same way she got in.
Back in the hidden shop, Sofia needed to sit down again.
Summoning a small bone orb from the hall with some difficulty, she played around with it a bit, trying to understand what exactly ‘Principality of Bones’ was, as that part of the skill came without a description. She understood very quickly what it entailed as she threw the bone ball around. Within her close aura, in a twelve meters radius sphere around her, her control over bones was basically absolute. Just by moving the bone orb as she usually would with Bone dominus, she could reshape it very fast and however she wanted, have it fly anywhere and with a lot of force, she could even slam it into the ground violently enough to create cracks, all that without even lifting a finger.
Shatter. She tried, done with her early experimenting, willing for the ball to crumble.
The bone ball was instantly covered in cracks, before falling apart like a crumbling ball of bone sand, forming a yellowish pile on the ground.
“... If I can do that directly to people’s bones…”
With a bit more testing, since there was plenty of space in the shooting range, she estimated that in the field aura, her control was more or less 50% better than it used to be with Bone dominus, while it was about 30% weaker than the original in the far aura.
70% of Bone dominus in a four kilometers zone… This is a bit ridiculous.
Bookie, I know you’re busy with Pareth, but could you send me your Book form back, please?
The book appeared near Sofia and Bookie summoned himself too.
“I’m here!”
“Oh, is Pareth done picking his specialization already?”
“No. He’s still gambling like you, he likes none of the choices he got!” Bookie confided.
“Really? What did he specialize in?”
“Nice try Sofia, but it’s still a secret!” Bookie answered with a smug look. For some reason he and Pareth wanted the specialization to be a surprise, and similarly Sofia hadn’t shared her specialization with them yet.
“Ahah, alright alright. Well my own specialization is over. Want to help me try it out?” Sofia offered, “You can summon anyone.”
“I want to see I want to see! Just try on me!” Bookie excitedly requested, jumping in place.
“Are you sure? Hmm… Well I’ll have to try something a bit less violent than what I had in mind then. Let’s attempt a Valeure special. Bookie, do a backflip!” Sofia said, manipulating Bookie’s bones with her Principality.
Bookie was forced to perform a perfectly executed backflip.
“Waoh! I didn’t know I could do that,” Bookie said in shock, “Again!”
“Sure.”
Sofia controlled Bookie’s bones to make him do a circle around her with a series of backflips like a professional gymnast.
“I’m a backflipper!”
“Are you that happy about it?” Sofia teased, “You didn’t even try the main feature yet!”
“There’s more?!”
“Come on, Bookie, this is my third specialization, did you think it was only backflips? Try to summon a bone armor,” Sofia said with a wink.
“Armor? Me?”
“That’s right. All skeletons get an armor now.”
To Bookie’s surprise, a glowing bone armor covered his clothes, a pair of skeletal wings growing from its back. “WOOOOO! I have the same armor as Sofia!!! Your specialization is the bestest!” he exclaimed with a gleeful voice from under his bone helmet.
“Right?”
With a smirk, Sofia summoned Crowie, and forcefully gave Crowie an armor. It formed in the shape of an actual crow, feathers and all, made entirely of finely sculpted glowing bones.
SO CUTE!!!
Sofia pet Crowie’s fake bone head. All skeletons get an armor.
All skeletons. She thought, her eyes on one particular line of her status sheet.
[Awakening of the five calamities]

Just doing a read through - in Chapter 586, Saria mentions meeting some Elves working with some Humans and a Dwarf historian trying to cure the Ebb. It seems that we very recently met a group matching that description....

2025-05-04 22:42:29 +0000 UTCI can't wait to see her step outside the trial and forget to turn off the auto skeleton creation only for all skeletons within her-likely to improve range-all suddenly start clawing their way out of the ground. I imagine those potions, other rewards, and upgrading her mana heart will all boost her range so merely stepping near a city will cause chaos.

2025-05-03 10:02:08 +0000 UTC"Concentric circles of mana appeared around her, and after a few seconds, she disappeared." A few seconds is a pretty long time in a fight, for one thing. Also, it's not clear yet if she can enter the Painted Halls in combat. The wording just says she can access it. It doesn't list restrictions clearly. Overall, I doubt it will be any more useful that way than the Zangdar ring.

2025-05-03 06:30:34 +0000 UTCAwesome. How hard is Sofia thinking about that Fae Concoction potion now? A permanent range boost to Aura for only 10 million TP must sound tempting now.

2025-05-03 03:36:50 +0000 UTCThe healing rate *is* really powerful, yes, but also keep in mind that higher level fights tend to be over quicker, too. Everyone thinks and moves faster at higher levels.

2025-05-03 01:28:59 +0000 UTCWow. Just wow. This is awesome. You really outdid yourself with this one, Mornn. Considering the range of the Far Aura, just those effects are great. 70% of her original Bone Dominus strength in such a large range is really a lot. Not to mention, having her entire skeleton army refill their entire health bars in 134 seconds (Radiance) is a rather good ability in large-scale commander-type battles which necromancers are supposed to do but Sofia almost never does... :-P The Field Aura effects are amazing. Pareth should usually be fighting within this range, so he should be getting 2.25% health per second (Far + Field + Radiance) in most fights (refill in 45 seconds), and get the exoskeleton with 50% extra sturdiness, too. I wonder what happens if someone has the exoskeleton active and passes out of Field Aura range? Does it just disappear? Stop regenerating? Also the under 25% health thing is awesome. When the description said enemies near death, I expected it to be more like 10%. 25% is much more useful. It's also totally appropriate levels of bone-horror for Sofia. :-) Can a skeleton that's become a skeletal thrall still be eaten by Bookie? I really hope so, otherwise it's going to be way too easy to waste perfectly good skeletons... (EDIT: Mornn answered this in another comment. Thralls can still be eaten by Bookie or inhabited by Pareth) The Close Aura effects are crazy. Pareth's going to rediculously hard to kill if he's defending her at close range. An exoskeleton, +150% bone sturdiness, and 9.75% health per second regeneration (Far + Field + Close + Radiance) is awesome. Especially if she hides in his ribcage or something. Sofia herself gets 10% health per second of healing, too (Close + 2xRadiance)... If only something reasonable could be done about healing while under the runes... Principality of Bones seems like it's going to have a lot of uses I can't even think of yet. Bone Dominus already had a lot of that, but with the added strength, and it working on non-inert bones... wow. Add in Pillar of Creation expanding the range when she's at low health, and it gets crazy. When the Blessing of permanent frame says it can't move, does that mean it is a single rigid body? Or that it's locked in space like Sofia when she's at low health? (EDIT: Mornn's statements elsewhere suggest it's the "rigid body" type of "can't move," but it isn't 100% clear yet.) That does explain [Quintessential], but why is [Mana Manipulation] listed as modifying her aura? Curious. This specialization gives her a massive incentive to complete the set with the Shroud. "Your aura’s strength and area of effect are greatly increased." sounds *really* good now. I'm curious about more of the details of the Painted Halls. Can she bring her non-thrall skeletons there? (I'm guessing yes) Can she bring her non-skeleton friends? (Really not sure) Can she store non-bone items there if she carries them in and out herself? (Probably, given that it didn't say she left her clothes behind or anything when she went there) Yeah, her signature skill skeletons getting the exoskeleton is going to be awesome. Technically, Bookie's book form is a skeleton, right? Can it summon its own exoskeleton, too? Alith *really* needs a skill that makes her count as a skeleton like Ihuarah does. She's missing out on too much now. Corrections: The influence of the Sovereign of unshackled frames is dependant unshackled -> Unshackled (consistency with skill name) will become Skeltal Thralls and fight Skeltal -> Skeletal The Skeletons of ennemies under 25% health ennemies -> enemies gains acces to the Painted halls. acces -> access and the delimitation line up perfectly delimitation -> delimitations its every walls made entirely of walls -> wall The floor of the halls were covered in were -> was

2025-05-03 00:42:16 +0000 UTCSofia can now go to the Margin at will with no apparent penalty. As we can see, the trial is simulating this "fake" Margin. What stops Sofia from exploiting this nonstop? She can evade EVERYTHING slower than her casting time. In a fight with a fast mage like Ezerid? Sit in the Margin while Pareth and Bookie wear him down. Take a 99% damage hit? Sit in the Margin for a few seconds for health regen.

2025-05-02 21:11:27 +0000 UTCHeheheheheheh, I am cackling like a mad man over here. Its everything I could've hoped for and more. Its beautiful, glorious! Imagine your own Skeleton trying to free itself. Dear God. And now she can make as many thralls as fit in her halls, she finally has a true necromancer army. Imagine a horde of skeletons who want to free their brethren within you. This is the most Sofia shit we've gotten in a while and I love it so much. AND THAT HEALING. Girl you simply must upgrade your rune to allow healing through. That's full health in 10 seconds. That plus your other healing plus your 1 hit protection is better than any extra lives. You need to find a way to get those to synergize, that is insane. Sofia is so goddamn scary now, and I love it so much. SO MUCH. Some more thoughts, having a free area heal sounds like exponential bone accumulation to me as she can take the bone her skeletons cut off themselves as raw matter to craft more thralls to cut off their own limb to craft more thralls etc. She can than take all that raw matter and do whatever she wants with it. Thralls being allowed to be crafted means she can really do some fun stuff with them. Engrave enchantments. Include vision tokens for absolute battlefield awareness. She could standardize different 'ranks' of thralls that have different levels of time and mana investment. Specialized units hand crafted for specific tasks. The possibilities are as wide as her imagination there. Also having a storage full of thralls will quite handley take care of her army needs, meaning the pages bookie has dedicated to big groups can likely be safely swapped out for more specialized elites. Speaking of bookie, I'm really hoping he gets a way to refactor his pages without losing skeletons, otherwise optimization of his arsenal is going to be a painful exercise of loss. God fighting with Sofia now is going to require wading through an army of bones, they ALL of exoskeletons, with wings. So they can fly. And the closer they are to her the more durable they will be. And her Aura is only going to grow. She was strong on her own BEFORE. This specialization has unlocked an entirely new dimension for her power to grow in as she invests in enpowering her army. I'm sure she'll have lots to talk about with that collection of liches.
Inv7ctus
2025-05-02 20:47:27 +0000 UTCAm I the only who is baffled by that healing rate? Not limited to out of combat, not paused by taking damage, just always on, and synergising with other passives as well? Unless healing is completely disabled, Sofia will go from the brink of death to perfectly healthy in ... 10 seconds. Her other skeletons not far behind. Add to that the sturdiness boosts of her various other buffs and how evasive she tends to be in combat, you'd have to basically one-shot her to make any progress at all, even if you do manage to catch her. As for Pareth ... I wouldn't be surprised if only a handful of people at their level would be capable of killing him even if he sat down and did absolutely nothing. He's already ridiculously hard to even damage, this skill massively increase that threshold even further ... and even if you do manage to deal millions of damage in one hit, probably more than your entire health bar, and thus damage him, odds are he'll just heal that damage in a second or two. At this point, the only people who can still threaten him would be monsters like Saria or Ezerid, or those several filters above them.
Kota
2025-05-02 19:55:23 +0000 UTCShe makes constructs in her city, and keeps maybe 10% in her storage. Then when she goes out any new constructs go straight in the storage. Once she’s back in the city more constructs can be made later. Either way, she has over a year of no mana and a lot of bones ahead of her, I’m guessing she can find a way to get over 10,000 constructs made. Or, alternatively, I forgot but can the skill choose which constructs she lets out of storage, or do they all come out?

2025-05-02 19:45:33 +0000 UTCHere's the real question... The Blessing of Permanent Frame, can it not move at all or just not move itself..? Because if it's the latter, Sofia can turn her bone city into a flying fortress through bone control when she's in residence, all for no mana.

2025-05-02 17:00:38 +0000 UTCAbsolutely loving this skill. The potential applications are insane, offensively and defensively. I'm curious how this will affect flight & dodging. How fast can she move bones? And can she lift herself & others by controlling her bone armor? If so, does 'flying' like that count as flying/running? Could she just 'walk' normally through the air but also be moving herself through the air to take advantage of things missing her while she's walking? The possibilities 🤩

2025-05-02 16:58:27 +0000 UTCI feel silly for not refreshing the page earlier now. I really like this skill, but not completely sure I understand all the implications of all bits of it yet. Can't wait to see it in action. Looks like Sofia is next going to have to figure out a way to source a large number of single use skeletons.

2025-05-02 15:41:24 +0000 UTCGoing strictly by language, every skeleton within her range is converted, but they only act if appropriate. Even more interesting is the complete lack of any specified limits (aside from the skeleton swarm ult thing) no limit to time, quantity, or proximity. Any inert skeleton she happens to come within 3.7 kilometers of at a minimum can be assumed to be a minion in waiting. And since the skeleton swarm ult specifies a significant cognitive debuff, we can also assume they're usually quite clever. Hopefully clever enough to sit still given that Sophia is going to accidentally an army the moment she gets near a city and its local graveyards.

2025-05-02 15:41:24 +0000 UTCNot sure how secret it is "Lumian? What's that?" "You know, the Great Unhinged Luminous.." "Oh, Her!"
Matt Grayson
2025-05-02 15:40:18 +0000 UTCSo, with pillar active, she can raise every inert skeleton in a 378 Km radius, for free... Do we know how strong a thrall is? Honestly Bone dominus has always been one of my favorite skills of hers, glad it's getting a small upgrade. I can't wait to see just how insane this is in use. It almost seems like anything within close range will just kinda die if she wants it to, without a ton of health, or a principality to resist maybe?
joey
2025-05-02 15:33:16 +0000 UTCAnd speaking of manipulating people's skeletons, far range says "weak control", which is 70% of the old bone dominus. Does that imply the field effect's "manipulate /all/ bones" weak control is also 70% of the old bone dominus in strength?

2025-05-02 15:23:42 +0000 UTCAlso if within close range, she can do this to people's skeletons, it means quickly dropping her health to pillar activation range can get her a 1km kill radius with the 100x boost

2025-05-02 15:19:45 +0000 UTC"Inert skeletons will become Skeltal Thralls and fight for the Sovereign if need be." I assume she can choose whether this happens, but can't really revert it? I'm thinking in terms of storing a non thrall skeleton in the Halls, removing it as a normal set of bones, and only then animating it. So that she has options other than "release them all at once"

2025-05-02 14:46:49 +0000 UTCYep the bone manipulation still screws the bones for skeletoning, but not for thralling. Also, a thrall that came from unmanipulated bones can still be eaten by Bookie or be used as a host for Pareth. Blessed constructs are just gone so that's that. 100% Compatibility in this case would have upgraded her aura growth per level a tiny bit.

2025-05-02 14:39:55 +0000 UTC- so the skeletal thralls only happen on unmodified skeletons, since the bone manipulation still makes bones not count as a skeleton anymore right? But the thralls themselves do count - are the % healing and the % bone sturdiness additive to the blessed bone constructs? Or did she lose those, since it's now an area effect? - would 100% compatibility with the fae ancestry have changed anything? - Sofia should totally spend her mana regen downtime practicing aura manipulation. The base effect of aura manipulation is indeed doing magic by using mana that isn't yours, right? - She's got 3 fusions left. She should totally merge quintessential and mana manipulation for better aura boost

2025-05-02 14:36:55 +0000 UTCThat is a damn hefty skill. Honestly not even sure what to comment regarding it, it's going to take a while to parse fully. Painted Halls just have that cool factor. I like the fact it shows her memories, almost acts like a hall of achievements. Little confused how it interacts with being a bone storage though, do the halls disappear as she uses more bone and reconstruct when she gathers them? Backflipping Bookie is nice, as is armoured Crowie. > All skeletons. She thought, her eyes on one particular line of her status sheet. Welp, I kind of saw that coming, synergises well considering hits actively decay lifetime. I'm more concerned about Armoured Pestle though, even if she doesn't really need it, it will look cool. Armoured Pain will be interesting too whenever she gets the chance to do that.
