My hot take is that the Last Jedi is actually kinda good. Very flawed (basically all the Rose stuff kinda sucks, although I don't blame the actress), but with cool ideas that the fans just couldn't handle because they wanted a simple star wars retread, a good and evil story. That said, it def could have been executed better and alot of things in this trilogy are mishandled. It's a shame, the characters could have been pretty great, had things been done just a little different. Looking forward to you watching Rise of Skywalker, because that's the real monster. Thank God disney era at least gave us Andor

Sure, it plays it safe by copying the original story....but for me it really revived the MAGIC of Star Wars and the Force, and made me feel like I felt watching Star Wars as a kid. It got my mind racing with the possibilities of the future of the franchise, of what wondrous directions the series might go....... .....and then The Last Jedi came out.....
