I'm a lot of things, but there is something that I rarely am, and that is to be satisfied with my work.
I was never really happy with the wolf, the work flow of doing high def sculpts and then make a low res mesh
and bake it over the high def never really captured the things I really liked about the sculpts. This was a problem that bothered me greatly. Was is working for many isn't really working for me so I'll have to find something else that might work.
So here I'll try something a bit different; Instead of seeing the high def as the definitive final version of the character, I'll just use the initial high def sculpt as a "general guide line" of proportions and general feel but never let it get too specific that might derail me further down the line. Then I'll do a low res mesh that has enough resolution, avoiding triangles (because they subdivide and deform pretty poorly, quads is the way to go) for me to continue to model on it, jumping back and forward in subdivisions in zbrush seeing how it will both work in high def and low def, model in new details or alter the mesh with zbrush's zmodeler tool and then bake it once I'm content that the details both work on the high and low.
Here I will show some updates with the femboy fox. I was never satisfied with his looks, so I've done a redesign that I now feel kind of content with.
How do you think he looks, does the new look work?
