First of All, I am Vegeta Ch.31

— Lord Slug —

The sound of men marching around the ship was like music to his ears. They had all been assembled and soon they would march this wasteful planet and claim what he has yearned for.

“Lord Slug!” One of the soldiers, his jin, ran in and bowed to a knee. “We have touched down on Planet Earth.”

“Good.” Slug’s voice came out gravelly and raspy. For a moment he paused and clenched the armrests of his chair tightly, his anger surfacing. He had to remind himself that this older… lesser version of him wouldn’t be long for this world, in no time he would have his power back. “Do as I commanded and send out the weakest of our soldiers, the ones whose power levels hover around four thousand. Let us bait out the warriors of this planet.”

“As you command, My Lord.” The jin lowered his head one more time before he made his way out of the room, leaving Slug to turn his attention to the engineers that were moving around ensuring everything was up to par.

“Have you lot heard anything from the lizards?” Slug asked boredly as he leaned back in his chair. The engineers turned to him and shook their heads.

“W-We haven’t, Lord Slug!” Their leader dropped to a knee and the rest of them followed after.

Slug growled and turned away to stare off at a wall. Silence from the Frost Demons couldn’t be a good thing. For years they had constantly had men keep his force in check, ensuring he never got enough power to overthrow them and take the Universe for himself. It was smart and while it annoyed him, he respected them for it.

Their silence during his short trip to Earth however was not very reassuring. No checks, no calls… something was wrong.

For a moment, worry struck the old Namekian’s features. Had the Frost Demons managed to learn about the Dragon Balls?!

No… such a thing should be impossible. If they had known then they likely would have come here themselves. No monarch in the universe would learn of the Dragon Balls and stay where they are… such a thing would be the height of laziness and stupidity.

Whatever they were up to, he could worry about it later, once he got his wish. Once that time came, he could make his way back to his home, the same home he was outcasted from, and enforce his own will.

Once he had the Namekian Dragon Balls, there would be no force in the Universe that could stop him and his rule.

BOOOOOOOM

The sound of an explosion rang out for everyone to hear. The ship shook from the power of the blast and a smirk tugged on Slug’s wrinkly lips.

He was right in his caution, this world definitely has powerful foes.

The large Namekian stood up and stretched his aged bones. It seems he would need to fight for his wish, something he was more than fine with doing.

And when he was finished having his fun, he’d step over their broken bodies and march his way to the dragon balls. Then he’d finally have it.

His youth.

The glorious memories of his strength refreshed in his mind and he was filled with determination he had not felt since he was a young spring lad! The urge to destroy, to murder, to conquer! That was his way and it would always be

Whoever protected this planet would know the might of the great Lord Slug!

— Turles —

“Foolish weaklings.” Turles practically spat out as he dropped his hand. His eyes bored down on the line of twenty or so soldiers he just killed with ease. They were the lowest of the low in the army he would have to face, that much Turles could sense.

His eyes fell onto the large ship that had landed in the middle of a fairly large city, one that wasn’t important enough for Turles to remember the name of.

He could feel the power of the people inside and knew one of them was pretty damn strong. About as strong as Kakarot without his Kaioken…

Such a foe would be difficult to defeat if Turles didn’t have backup, but he could sense the others were close behind. It was only a matter of time before they were all here to wipe the floor with these invaders.

PSHHHH

Smoke hit the cold air as the ship opened and out stepped soldiers by the dozen. They stared up at Turles and aimed their weapons at him. The Saiyan’s eyes narrowed at the tech… those were Freeza Force weapons.

The soldiers looked nothing like Freeza Force but they wielded their weapons… who the hell were these invaders?!

“Fire!” The soldier at the front commanded and all of the soldiers unleashed their blaster fire at Turles who took the attacks without moving. He blocked the hits with his forearm, a minor sting for each one that hit him. The weapons would have been a problem for him just half a year ago, but now he was so far beyond such technology.

All the blaster fire made smoke arise around Turles, and he used it to his advantage. He held out his palm and sent another blast toward the soldiers below.

““Arggghhhh!””

BOOOOM

He heard tens of them scream as the blast detonated. Turles waited patiently for the smoke to clear and as it did, a smirk tugged on his lips at the sight of a crater with charred bodies littering in and around it.

From the opening in the ship a group of men walked out, earning his attention. There was a short green alien who honestly looked hard to look at, a large brownish-orange skinned alien with large dragon-like wings, a handsome light blue-skinned man with long pointed ears and blonde hair, and at the front of them was a large orange-skinned man.

Turles studied the orange man, he kind of looked like Amond, the orange-skin, bulky body, and long angular jaw matched at the very least but that’s where the differences ended. This guy had horns and long pointed ears, removing any chance of him and Amond being of the same race.

“This planet is now under the command and ownership of Lord Slug, surrender now and we may just let you live.” The orange-skinned man stared down Turles who turned an intrigued smirk at them.

They likely couldn’t sense his power level, if they could, no one would speak so daringly to him.

“Oh is that so?” Turles crossed his arms over his broad chest and let himself float down to the ground. His feet planted and he began to walk forward. “I refuse, do your duty.”

“You won’t live to regret your decision.” The leader narrowed his eyes at the Saiyan as Turles stepped toward them. The blonde-haired pretty boy extended his hand and shot a blast at Turles which he tanked easily and kept walking.

The group was briefly surprised before they all sprang into action. The winged alien charged Turles along with the small green ugly alien.

Seeing the men engage him, Turles adopted a combat stance and prepared for a clash. The Saiyan caught the winged man’s initial punch and kicked away the little green alien who tried to strike his leg. A smirk tugged on his lips as he pulled the winged alien in and elbowed him, sending him flying away.

The two men standing back launched waves of ki at Turles and he launched his own back, causing the beams to clash.

He was stronger than them but the two still weren't as weak as he tried to play them out to be. Their beams pushed his back as he grit his teeth and filled the energy beam with more ki. That was all it took to win the struggle and let his blast consume them. The blonde-haired alien managed to jump out of the way a mere moment before the beam took his life, the orange-skinned man on the other hand was not so lucky.

Turles let out small breaths through his smirk as he watched the orange alien turn to ash.

“You… k-killed Commander Zeeun!” The blue-skinned alien shouted before firing a powerful blast filled with the man’s rage at Turles.

Turles raised his fist and smacked the blast away, sending it flying into a nearby building.

BOOOOM

He carelessly glanced at the destroyed building before shrugging. He didn’t know if anyone was in there but if they were they should have already evacuated, sucks to suck.

“So you’re the protector of this world.”

Turles immediately jumped out of the way and watched as energy clashed with the ground he had just been standing on.

BOOOOOM

He landed a couple dozen meters away and glared at the larger green alien who had just fired the beam at him.

Turles could feel the alien’s power… this was the leader, he’d bet his life on that.

“Who the hell are you?!”

The aged green alien grinned madly and closed his eyes as he shook his head. A chuckle escaped his lips as he opened his eyes and pointed a lone finger at Turles.

“Why would I waste my breath on a dead man?”

Just as those words left the old fuck, Turles felt something wrap around his waist, then two other things grab both of arms.

“What the fuck?!” Turles shouted and turned his head to see the small ugly green alien he had kicked away before wrapped around his waist. On his arms were mini versions of the ugly fuck!

“What is this?! Get off of me!” Turles growled out as he struggled to break himself free of the small thing’s grip. Even as he tried his best to fight, he couldn’t manage to free himself. Worry set in as the old alien’s finger lit up with ki.

“Keep hell warm for the people of this planet, and make sure you tell the God of Death that it was Lord Slug who sent you to him.”

Turles’ eyes widened as a blast was fired his way. He had let his newfound power get to his head and now his life would serve as payment for that fatal mistake.

As he stared down the incoming golden blast, he couldn’t help but picture the face of the woman who had grown on him during his stay on Earth.

Tights…

He could only imagine the angry look on her face now when she found out how he got himself killed.

He would have loved to see it for himself…

BOOOOOOOOM

— Raditz —

The sound of an explosion nearby made the group quicken their pace toward the partially destroyed city.

Turles had left first and likely touched down long before them. Initially the group wasn’t worried… until they felt that the high power level grew stronger

They flew straight toward the structure that stood out like a sore thumb, the large ship that looked as if it could house thousands of soldiers.

The group of Raditz, Nappa, Gohan, Piccolo, Tien, Krillin, and Yamcha, touched down a good distance away from the explosion that had kicked up a great deal of smoke.

The smell of cooked meat caught the nose of Raditz and a glance at the others showed him that they smelled it too.

As the smoke cleared, Raditz could make out some figures, but when the smoke had completely vanished, his group stared in shock.

Turles…

Laying on the ground was the badly burnt body of Turles, and beside him was the ashes of another, or perhaps a few others.

“Turles?!” Krillin shouted in shock. Raditz had to hold his own down. His gaze shot over to the old green alien who was staring them down with an amused smile.

“More protectors to destroy? Good, the last one was weaker than I had hoped… I almost regret killing Medamatcha.” The large green-skinned alien grinned madly at the group as they touched down, uncaring that he had just killed one of his men.

Raditz stared back down at Turles with a mix of disbelief and anger.

The fool… why the hell had he been so gung-ho?!

His body was charred and he wasn’t moving, but Raditz could sense his ki so he was still alive but with those injuries, he wouldn’t be long for this world.

“Gohan, take Turles to Korin’s tower.” Piccolo ordered as he threw aside his cape and turban, both slammed against the ground leaving small cracks in the concrete beneath their feet.

“But… Mr. Piccolo-”

“Do as you’re told, runt!” Piccolo growled out and Gohan wasted no more time. He ran over to Turles body and picked up the burned Saiyan.

Their powerful enemy watched Gohan leave with curious eyes. He held his hand up and sent a blast at the retreating boy which was easily intercepted by Piccolo.

“You’re worse than we thought if you’re willing to fire on a fleeing child.” Tien’s eyes locked with their foe.

“What does it matter?” The invader asked as he crossed his arms with a cocky grin tugging on his old face. “Child, adult, elder… everyone dies, is it not kinder, more merciful to die swiftly?”

“Says the old prune barely clinging to life.” Raditz snarled.

“For now.” The invader chuckled darkly. He slightly turned his body and looked back at his forces. “Fan out, find the balls. The rest of you, stay and fight.”

““Yes, Lord Slug!”” The several hundred masked soldiers nodded and flew off in various directions.

The balls…? There was only one thing he could be talking about… The Dragon Balls.

The fact that an alien knew about the Dragon Balls was concerning, especially one so powerful, but they were in the clear… for now.

The Dragon Balls had been used around six months ago to bring Kakarot back to life and should be nothing more than rocks at this point… which means this Slug couldn’t even make a wish.

“Slug… that’s your name? Fitting.” Yamcha grinned nervously as a bead of sweat ran down his brow. He lowered himself into a stance and the others did the same. “Why don’t we rub some salt in those wrinkles of yours.”

“You’ll die trying.” Slug clenched his fists and began to power up. The group stared in growing worry as the old alien’s power rose. He was already a force to be reckoned with, but they hadn’t expected him to be hiding his power!

Raditz narrowed his eyes at his foe and tightened his fists. He was strong, that much was certain, but he wasn’t stronger than all of them combined. They could win this!

“I hate to say it but we’re going to have to fight together.” Raditz said with a low voice as the others nodded.

“The power of friendship, right Raditz?” Nappa asked with a grin.

“The power of teamwork…” Raditz clarified slowly.

“Friendship trumps all!” Nappa shouted and opened his mouth to launch a blast right at their strongest foe.

BOOOOOOOM

The powerful blast exploded as it hit the alien in front of them. The group watched as the massive spaceship tilted over and fell due to part of it being destroyed in the blast.

“Nappa… where did that come from?!” Krillin looked up at the large bald Saiyan with shock and awe.

“From here.” Nappa jabbed a thumb at his heart and he grinned down at the small Earthling. “Hey Raditz?”

“… Yes, Nappa?” Raditz breathed out as he took his eyes off of the damage and looked at the larger Saiyan.

“Vegeta would be proud, right Raditz?” Nappa asked with an expectant look, like a child waiting for permission to play outside.

“… Yes Nappa, I do believe Prince Vegeta would be proud.”

“Mm.” Nappa nodded. “The power of friendship trumps all!”

“All but the mighty Lord Slug!” The voice of Slug roared through the smoke as he flew through the large plume and punched Nappa hard enough to send him flying away.

“Oh no!” Krillin shouted as he watched Nappa crash into a nearby building, collapsing the structure in on itself. He turned his attention back to Slug and dashed forward, only to get grabbed. Slug’s hand resting over Krillin’s mouth and the small bald Earthling let panic set in.

“Krillin!” Yamcha shouted.

“Such a loud bunch of fools, you’ll surely liven Hell up nicely.” Slug grinned as his ki focused in his hand. Everyone watched in shock as Krillin’s cheeks gained a golden color as light tried its best to leave the inside of his mouth. It was clear what Slug was going to do.

Raditz shot forward and gave a powerful punch to Slug’s gut, causing the green-alien to lose his grip and double over in pain. In quick succession Raditz grabbed Krillin and threw his back to the group before following up with a burst of punches to Slug’s head.

“Argh!” Slug roared in pain as he extended his hand and fired a blast out at Raditz’s chest, forcing the long-haired Saiyan to skid back as he pushed back against it. Eventually his might overcame the blast and he countered by releasing his ki from his hands in a beam that sent both projectiles back at Slug.

The green-alien flew in the air before the attack could hit him, making the attack fly back toward the remainder of Slug’s damaged ship.

BOOOOOOOOM

The explosion consumed the surrounding area, metal and dirt kicked up creating a giant plume of smoke and debris.

Slug hovered above the carnage with a look of indifference.

“He’s no joke…” Raditz breathed out as he stared down their foe. Slug was stronger than anyone he had fought yet by a long shot. A part of him wondered if Slug was even stronger than Freeza, at least in his first form. If he were a betting man, like Nappa, he’d say that Slug was considerably stronger, even in his dried up old age.

If Vegeta’s prediction of five hundred and forty thousand was correct then Slug was surely stronger. Which didn’t bode well for them.

Suddenly, a group of power levels heading toward the planet stole everyone’s attention.

“Those power levels…” Raditz spoke with wide eyes.

It seems they were running out of time… and Freeza was running out of options.

Upon looking up, Raditz watched as five distant space pods fell from Earth’s upper atmosphere.

“They’re here, Raditz!”

“I fucking know, Nappa!” Raditz shouted at the larger Saiyan without removing his eyes from the five space pods.

The Ginyu Force.

— Chapter End —

Beta Readers: @Dragonboy1

Author’s Note: The Ginyu Force has arrived! Yet they are quite underpowered for the fight that’s about to take place, but that hasn’t eased the others worries. After the Ginyu Force, Freeza will surely come.

I’m buffing Slug since I don’t really have a concrete power level for him. I saw estimations say he’s around 1.8 million power in his youth and 4.5 million in his giant form. I don’t know how much I’ll be increasing his power level in his youth, but I’ll be placing him around 800k in his old age.
