in this week's installment of throwback thursday, we take you to barton creek in austin, texas, which was one of the absolute BEST things about living there.
barton creek goes in a circle roughly around the outskirts of austin, texas, and has a few different points where you can hike in and hang out in the creek. it's a "watering hole". the photos here are from lost creek, which was our personal favorite spot (and typically the less busy one). on most days, when there weren't people there with bluetooth speakers, it was chill and out of the way, a great place to relax, and you have to hike in and out, so it's like a little reward for exercising!
the main photo is from barton springs pool, which is a part of the creek that's been separated out, so it's filled with the water from the creek (and it's always ICE COLD because of that, even in the dead of summer), but it functions more like a municipal pool. and you can go topless there!
