My head has sorta grown numb from writing, and I'm not entirely happy(or unhappy) with the chapter, so I'll probably go back to it later as I usually do(the problems in the previous chapters should be fixed now). I think it unlikely he is siding with greyback, but we know no details about his history for the last decade aside from his lapse and his family. The werewolf coincidences keep piling up, and I dont believe in that many coincidences.

Definitely my favorite spell from the franchise, and I've yet to see anyone really use it. Every fic author I've come across just defaults to fiendfyre.

2025-05-09 18:05:26 +0000 UTCWerewolves attacking Hogwarts seem ill-advised, unless certain students are working as their inside men. It’s naturally fortified (it’s a castle) and has wards. Dumbledore, Bones, and a host of deadly professors are currently there, and it’s their home turf. And if things get dangerous enough, you have dozens of older students that are near full fledged wizards and witches that can fight back. So this has to be an attack on Hogsmeade, right? They plan to hit it hard, fast, and then flee before reinforcements arrive? Only issue is that I don’t really see what this gets them. I know they specifically targeted Bones in canon, but that can’t be their objective here. She isn’t in the same position as she was in canon, and even if they did lure her out, that would require attacking long enough for Hogwarts to send reinforcements, which would result in a ton of lost werewolves, and no guarantee that they would even get their target. Not to mention they’d need another attack somewhere else to distract the auror force or reinforcements will come from there as well. Seems like a lot of risk for little reward. Unless their goal is something I’m not thinking of? Capturing a student maybe? Not sure how they’d pull that off.
