Chandler is my favorite ❤️

Marie-Soleil Dobie

I think it’s really sad about the last line where Joey asks who they think will be the last to get married and everyone looks at Chandler… Sadly, Matty never got the chance to get married and it just hits really hard…

You have nothing to be sorry for. We understand 💜💜

We shall

I also think the funniest are Ross and Chandler and Phoebe, then Joey. Great episode

"The whole world is my lesbian wedding" Oh Chandler 🤣🤣🤣 It takes a lot of strength to do what Ross did in this episode. To support a wedding for your ex-wife and the woman she cheated on you with, while giving your ex-wife away to said woman she cheated on you with, is probably something I couldn't do (naw, I definitely couldn't do it lol). Good on ya Ross! Phoebe not realizing that that woman was hitting on her is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣

absolutely agree! like i’m not gonna sit her and say ross doesn’t have moments where he makes choices i don’t agree with because he does, but that’s like all fully fleshed out characters should. and i think yeah everything about all three of theirs dynamic this episode was perfect and beautifully done

This episode really doesn't age that badly, a for a show from the 90s I felt they handled Carol and Susan's relationship really well and respectfully. Of course there are some jokes that wouldn't be acceptable today but overall it sends a really good message. I especially loved that they included Carol's parents not being ok with her being a lesbian and Ross standing up for her and saying screw them. I imagine that was very progressive at the time. 👏👏

Siobhan Linehan

I agree! When people criticize Ross and call him a horrible guy I always mention this episode. Not only was it his ex-spouse but she was marrying the woman she cheated on him with. And I agree with him, if Carol was re-marrying another man no one would expect him to go. But I'm glad because he did not need to do any of that and did because he still cares deeply for Carol, he might not love the same anymore but there's always going to be love there. And this is probably the only time that I actually liked Susan, she was actually sweet and I loved that they showed Carol watching them dance in the background, you can tell she was so happy to see them getting along so well.

Love that you’re loving this show! In Ross’ defense, he’s not being homophobic in this episode, he’s grappling with being happy for his ex-wife despite the pain of watching her be happy with her cheating mistress whilst he’s still in love with Carol. That’s hard to grapple with generally speaking and I think he did pretty well overall.

i love this episode so much. i think it’s a great showcase of ross’ true character; yes he’s insecure and whiny at times but ultimately he’s a really empathetic genuine guy who’ll do anything for the people he loves. even if it hurts, cuz let’s be real for a sec, who would honestly want to not only go to their ex spouse’s wedding, but give them away as well? for this episode to come out more than a decade before gay marriage was even legalized, i think it still holds up rather well. and as for your comment about the guys being funnier, i agree with the exception of phoebe. rachel in these first few seasons, her arc is her growing from a spoiled rich girl, to a woman living on her own for the first time and really figuring herself out. so comedy is kinda on the periphery for her character i feel. and i’ve noticed it takes people a bit to warm up or fully get monica’s character. i think people can see her as just being “the mom” of the group, and when you’ve gotta play the person who’s corralling all these other crazy characters, it doesn’t leave much room for her herself to get wacky

Alicia Cue

I truly have no recollection of this episode. I love it!!!!!!

Leticia Schmitt

I think I've said it before but Chandler reminds me of Stiles, guess I just love the sarcastic brunettes lol

Amanda P

So sorry you're not feeling good! Hopefully you'll be back to normal soon!

People have been talking about how Friends is dated, which it is in some ways. But this episode broke barriers when it aired in 1996. It was the third gay marriage on TV and the FIRST lesbian wedding ever on TV. But you can still see how different it is compared to today. They didn't show the ceremony and Carol & Susan didn't even kiss. But again, we have to remember that even in the 90s things were so different. Gay marriage wasn't even legalised in New York until 2011. A fun fact is that NBC expected a flood of phone complaints for portraying a lesbian wedding but they 'only' received 11 calls. Another fun fact is that the woman officiating the wedding is Candace Gingrich, an LGBTQ+ rights activist and sister to conservative Congressman Newt Gingrich. I do see certain double standards though. Like, while I think it's sweet how Ross not only came to the wedding but gave Carol away AFTER convincing her to go through with it regardless of what her parents thought, he made a great point about how if she were marrying a man no one would expect him to come. The question is, why is that? Or how on Glee when Santana convinced Brittany she wasn't cheating when they were hooking up while she was with Artie "because of different plumbing"? Almost as if because it's two women it's not real and therefore doesn't count. Weird. Btw, Rachel’s mum is played by Marlo Thomas, best known for a late 60s/early 70s sitcom called That Girl. She is on the board of St. Jude Children's hospital which was founded by her father, actor Danny Thomas, and treats children (though its patients can be as "old" as 21) for cancer and other illnesses free of charge. Believe it or not, she was actually almost 60 here, while Jen was about 27. Also, don't worry about not being able to fully express yourself, we know you're laughing on the inside (or in your head as Phoebe would say).

Heida

I also think this was one of the funniest episodes. Hope the pain goes down and you feel better ❤️‍🩹

Jahnae Phillip

Travis u funny , this the worst show to watch if you can’t laugh😂 lol , but anyway great reaction! Can’t wait for more

Arriona Clark

It's okay if you're not as expressive you don't have to apologize for it. Just take the time to heal ! I agree with you though the guys are funnier (and Phoebe). I do love Chandler and Joey more when it comes to jokes.

Shin Yukina

I really love this episode :)
