Rachel Dashae for Into the Wild

Its crazy to think that Rachel and I first met and shot 11 years ago at a meet and greet. The internet was a different place then we would mainly network on DeviantArt (what happened there) and ModelMayhem (really though what happened there)

And while it seems every website is doomed to ruin what made it special, I have friends that I can trace back to every incarnation of this thing we call online. Rachel and I have grown so much our work has moved so far from where we started. Its actually quite startling, but I love it. I feel like I get to time travel with Rachel. In just 10 years we have lived so many lives. Life on the road, roommates, friends living in separate cities all across the country, house sitter, dog watcher, model, photographer, model and photographer, our lives our two points that continue to meet up sometimes for a while, often not long enough. We create, we catch up, we head in new directions.

11 years ago we were babies in an industry that chews up babies, and often kills their drive. Standing in front of a wall surrounded by adults. Now I guess we are the adults. Walking through the forests free from so much of what drove us initially, still with new ideas, and new stories to tell.

Truly I love Rachel she is one of those people I know I will be working with for a long time. Our dots will meet and we will make magic somewhere
