There were a lot of questions, I will try to answer a second batch of questions later this month.

Lastly, at one point in this I say that ingestion of formic acid causes blindness. I assumed this was the case because formic acid is typically considered the toxic metabolite with methanol ingestion and many sources suggest it directly damages the optic nerve but I now wonder if that is truly the case. Case reports of high dose formic acid ingestion do not describe blindness so clearly there is some additional complexity in the matter.

2022-10-07 01:40:23 +0000 UTCNeurobiologically, AFAIK, there's no evidence to suggest frequent tryptamine use has any toxic effects. Psychologically? Perhaps... Like Hamilton says, pharmacology is utterly complicated, so it's difficult to give an absolute answer for a question like this. What's true for me might not be true for you. IME, you know when you're doing it too much.

2022-08-31 15:40:15 +0000 UTCDMT every day? I feel like we all hear “wait AT LEAST two weeks between trips or you’ll go insane!!”, but clearly people like Hamilton, the chromium carbene guy, shulgin and friends, would trip on serotonergics very frequently… is it not that risky?
