“How can I when it brought me so much joy?” He whispers right into my ear. “Finding you on the throne like the queen you are,” he growls. “Your moans were enough for me, but then your legs were splayed and I could smell your honey all around.”
I stand up off the beach, escaping his dark whispers. “It really has been a while for you. You’d probably get off on a cool breeze.”
Gryndren smirks. “I paid a hefty price for that honey last night. And you know what? I don’t regret a thing. It made me realize how shrewd you are, how cunning. It made me fall even faster than before.”
I smirk at him. “You really are a weakling,” I chuckle. “No wonder you didn’t want to fight any other dragons. All a woman had to to do is smile at you and you’re wounded.”
“I was born with an affliction, I wouldn’t mind if you stopped poking at it,” Gryndren snickers. “Some dragons love gold, I love women.”
I arch a brow. “Is that why you have two?”
Gryndren chuckles, his eyes flickering for a moment. “Given the chance I would much prefer the company of one woman all my life than many. My other affliction is that I am a romantic.”
“So kidnapping me and watching me struggle up a wall is your idea of romance?” I tease.
He shrugs. “Not my idea. But it has seemed to work on you.”
Oh no, all I seem to do with him is backfire! It is a gut punch, a slap to the cheek, an epiphany I didn’t want to see.
