Honestly, thats the mindset I go into for every episode of jojos. Expect Vin Diesel jumping sharks out of a plane and you'll never be disappointed

2025-03-28 12:53:23 +0000 UTCI LOVE the concept of Mew Mew and Jailhouse Lock. A psychological attack, a strike against your own memory is something so so cool, but kinda crumbles in the concept as soon as you start to think about it. This episode is best enjoyed when you just treat it like a Fast and Furious movie - entertainment only with no sense. Which is really unfortunate, because last episode had SUCH a good premise for this to be one of the best episodes

2025-03-27 20:46:18 +0000 UTCI didn't remember so much cursing in the subtitles on my initial watch and realized it had to be a localization of the subtitles or something. I read somewhere "English CC (Closed Captions)" are subtitles of the English Dub on Netflix. I checked with my version on Netflix to confirm and Georgie is on English CC so she's getting the subtitles of the English dub for what it's worth.

2025-03-27 17:21:01 +0000 UTCPS. there actually have been cases of supermarket eggs mistakenly getting fertilized somewhere in the production process, though very rare. I'm more surprised that TWO of them were mistakenly fertilized in one package As to how, either the process is not up to snuff and hens are being exposed to roosters, or perhaps even asexual fertilization/reproduction which has been reported (very rarely) in domestic and wild birds

2025-03-27 04:32:05 +0000 UTCIt might help to know that the Netflix subtitles are incredibly off compared to the original manga text. They localized the hell out of it rather than a typical literal translation. Crunchyroll has the better translation (at the cost of heavy censorship)

2025-03-27 04:25:11 +0000 UTCI think you hit the nail on the humor. Maybe it's the way its drawn, but the prison they're in makes this whole ordeal feel less like an adventure and more like a chore. The setting just doesn't feel alive. It doesn't help that the main cast is barely together cause that's where the humor really shines in JoJo's. And it hurts Jolynes development too especially since she's supposed to be learning how to be a Joestar. But she ended up becoming a top 5 Jojo for me thankfully.

2025-03-27 00:58:58 +0000 UTCI think so many of the stands in Part 6 just irritate me 😂 like they're not bad but they're just like, can we just get rid of this person? I also feel like this part doesn't necessarily explain the stands or plot very well even though they're the most complex in the series yet. I had to look up so many things and yeah they made sense but it's not a seamless experience. I say that in critique of this part as an adaptation cause from what I've heard the manga is great.

2025-03-27 00:30:34 +0000 UTCI wouldn't think too hard about Jailhouse Lock. At the end of the day Shonen anime ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I laughed too hard at Pucci catching eggs. Those are quite expensive right now in the US lol. Also that scene is slightly different in the manga. The lady also was carrying a baby and Pucci catches both her groceries and the baby. But as he walks away the lady notices the eggs and her baby. Onto the final batch of episodes~! I remember walking by Time Square in New York City and seeing advertisements on the big screens about Part 6. What a different time lol

2025-03-26 23:06:41 +0000 UTCYeah, while I love the design and the idea of Jail House Lock, the execution of the fight is admittedly wack The "reflection of many things is actually one thing" argument seems especially dumb to me Jail House Lock was done dirty, and it's one of the reasons I disliked this part when I first read it

2025-03-26 21:51:34 +0000 UTCSo there’s a couple things I’d like to say. 1. Regarding Jailhouse Lock, I think a problem arises from the use of the word “memory”. I think it’s more appropriate to say she can only FOCUS on the last three things that have occurred. Millions of things happen to us on a daily basis, but we only really actively focus on a very small portion of them. When it comes down to things like information like “I need to remember MewMew,” or “I need to find Emporio,” , we focus on the idea as a whole. But when it comes to things like having 4 bullets shot at you, you’re trying to focus on each bullet individually to deflect them, or with guards pointing guns at you, you’re probably not focusing on the one woman who doesn’t have a gun pointed at you. I think the misunderstanding largely comes from the wording of using the word “remember” to explain these things. 2. Jolyne wasn’t actually using Jailhouse Lock, it’s just that MewMew caught on that if she didn’t use Jailhouse Lock to get Jolyne out of there, Jolyne was probably gonna break her neck. 3. The eggs thing I think is an oversight. I understand what Araki was trying to hint at with this, but yeah those are unfertilized eggs. Nothing I can explain away with this one lol. I felt the same way watching this episode the first time, but watching it again has made things make a lot more sense.

2025-03-26 21:37:33 +0000 UTCI actually really like these two episodes solely due to how much it made me frustrated, in a good way, I also think her powers make sense, but I also thought the eggs thing was dumb lmao, cuz yeah they dont work like that lmao
