The markings Jotaro carves in his skins and Jolyne then gets is actually not the first time something like that happened: J. Geil, the guy who killed Polnareffs sister got impaled on a fence, and his mother (the crazy hag that was with Dio) got his wounds transferred onto her. Family Bonds are strong in JoJo and can transfer distress, pain and wounds. And maybe even family birthmarks, if someone is birthed from your bone ;)
