Yeah One Piece had fun with the real Blackbeard's name. They made Whitebeard "Edward" and only kept the "Teach" part for Blackbeard. Also just in case you wonder about their missing "beard", in Japanese they are both Shirohige and Kurohige... "Hige" is some encompassing word for any kind of facial hair

2025-06-11 10:34:24 +0000 UTCHonestly one of, if not my most, favourite episode up until this point in the show. I've rewatched it many times over the years and it always slaps. THE LORE. THE DEVELOPMENT. And yeah I also love that the Bellamy fight was done in a punch. It has a certain weight to it that the long-drawn out fights don't have, because it still feels like (and is) a big moment.
