I guess it can be tricky to tell from the angle (and because she and Sythe are all blanketed up) but I can assure you it is Definitely Cat Maren there.

The shine on the bridge of her nose is present with every Wolf Maren sketch I looked over, indicating the cold, wet nose that wolves (and other canines) have. I got excited when I didn't see that shine on the original sketch, so I assumed it was Cat Maren sitting on the couch. I really need Tom to weigh in on this. Can you please settle this argument? While I don't mind explaining the occasional random girlish squee to my neighbors, it would be nice if I didn't feel so let down.

Besides, I went through the sketches when I saw the original one, and while I squee'd thinking that it was a Cat Maren sketch, this sketch has the white shine on the top of her nose, revealing a larger-than-it-looks canine snout. This is the canidae form of Maren, not her felidae form. I'm not going back to edit anything, but if someone comes up with new evidence, I'll be happy to look it over.

2025-01-05 01:10:13 +0000 UTCThis is everything I was hoping for and more from the colour. It is so cozy and warm in a lot of ways, in all the right ways. It's exactly the sort of mood of home, sitting at the fireplace and just...relaxing. I did not realize at first that Roselyn was leaning over the sofa to hand the cookies and hot chocolate to everyone, but it works very well! And it makes it even better that Raine is tugging her arm, asking her to join them. Talking of which, the blankets are brilliant. So big and warm, like wearable tents. I never realized that Red was shirtless here, he must be very warm indeed! Might as well be in the fur, like the others! And it was nice to bring another Cat Maren sketch and colour to the fore after seeing her wolf form around a lot. Wolf Maren is cute, but it's nice to remember where her Keidran side began-as a snuggled, curled up cat :) Anyway, enough of me blathering, this is such an awesome colour, and it will be my desktop background for January! Happy new year!
