Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [450]

As the battle between Xerneas and Yveltal reached its peak, even with Deoxys shielding them, Team Flare struggled under the oppressive auras of the two legendary Pokémon.

But Lysandre ignored his subordinates' discomfort entirely.

He was too absorbed, his eyes locked onto the battling legends, inwardly questioning whether he truly had the strength to capture them.

As if sensing his doubts, a casual voice piped up from beside him:

"I know what you're worried about. Relax! With Team Rocket here, a couple of legendary Pokémon are nothing."

Lysandre turned, frowning at the overly-familiar "Archer," who had sidled up beside him.

"…You're a Team Rocket Executive?"

"Indeed, is something wrong?"

Wrong? There's plenty wrong!

Though Lysandre didn’t strictly care about hierarchy, the complete lack of boundaries shown by this Rocket executive, casually chatting with him at such a critical moment, irked him greatly.

Were all Rocket executives this insufferably familiar?

Lysandre glanced irritably toward "Giovanni," but the latter appeared deeply engrossed in the duel between Xerneas and Yveltal.

Did Sabrina notice August's antics?

Of course she did.

She’d noticed the moment August started wandering around like a restless delinquent looking for conversation.

But could she actually stop him?

Nope!

She'd learned this firsthand from numerous failed attempts to sneak-attack August at night, so she pretended not to notice, saving herself from further embarrassment.

At this moment, the distant battle took a turn—Xerneas finally leveraged its type advantage, striking Yveltal’s wing with a perfectly aimed [Moonblast], gaining the upper hand.

Yveltal screeched in pain but swiftly retaliated, wings unfurling as a dark-red beam shot toward Xerneas.

[Oblivion Wing]

Everything in the beam's path turned instantly to stone. Yveltal greedily absorbed the stolen life energy, visibly healing its injuries.

Without hesitation, Xerneas countered. Its body radiated golden-green brilliance, unleashing a rainbow-hued beam from its branching antlers, halting Yveltal's absorption.

The battle evolved into a grueling stalemate, draining both Pokémon rapidly.

As their energy visibly dwindled, Lysandre instantly recognized his chance.

Ignoring "Archer," he shouted commands at Team Flare: "Everyone! Attack Xerneas now!"

Team Flare’s Pokémon instantly launched an assault.

"Ahem," August-as-Archer interjected again, "I don’t think this is the best timing—perhaps you should wait?"

Lysandre paid no attention, driven by urgency.

They’d delayed too long already; such commotion would soon attract League attention—and with it, August and his Rayquaza. That would mean instant defeat.

Waving his hand decisively, Lysandre signaled his subordinates.

"Now!"

[Flamethrowers] and [Thunderbolts] streaked toward Xerneas, deliberately ignoring Yveltal.

Xerneas, fully occupied holding off Yveltal, had no spare energy to defend against the attacks, while Yveltal naturally ignored this unexpected support.

Attacks rained down, hitting Xerneas directly.

Normally, such weak attacks were trivial to Xerneas—even now, heavily exhausted, they merely irritated it.

Seeing his team’s efforts ineffective, Lysandre took matters personally.

He hurled his Pokéball forward: "Gyarados, [Mega Evolve]!"

Engulfed in rainbow light, Gyarados roared as it [Mega Evolved]. Jets of water propelled its massive body toward Xerneas with devastating force.

Forced to respond, Xerneas diverted precious energy to block Mega Gyarados, upsetting its delicate equilibrium with Yveltal.

In that brief instant, Xerneas’s protective glow wavered.

Seizing the opportunity, Yveltal intensified its assault. Its [Oblivion Wing] instantly broke through, smashing directly into Xerneas.

An explosion rocked the battlefield, hurling Xerneas backward.

BOOM!

Xerneas crashed violently into a towering tree, snapping it instantly. The tree turned to stone from [Oblivion Wing’s] lingering energy, then shattered around Xerneas, pinning it under massive debris.

Seeing Xerneas trapped, Lysandre triumphantly pulled out a Master Ball.

Sabrina quickly tugged at August’s arm, but August shook his head calmly, smiling knowingly.

As Lysandre threw the Master Ball toward Xerneas, it struck the crimson glow surrounding the Pokémon, instantly turning to stone before crumbling to dust upon impact.

Lysandre’s smile froze abruptly.

And that wasn’t his only problem…

"Now you've done it!" August called out cheerfully. "Yveltal’s noticed you messing around!"

From Yveltal’s viewpoint, the situation was infuriating.

It had finally bested its rival Xerneas, and before it could enjoy the spoils, humans—mere "bugs" it had ignored completely—were trying to snatch its prize?

Unlike Xerneas, Yveltal held no fondness for humanity.

With a furious screech, it unleashed another [Oblivion Wing], aiming directly at Lysandre.

Lysandre barely managed to dive aside, heart racing as the deadly beam passed dangerously close.

But several less fortunate grunts couldn’t escape, instantly turning to stone.

"I did tell you to wait…" August remarked gleefully, openly enjoying Lysandre’s misery.

Sabrina watched August openly provoke Lysandre, silently marveling at how Lysandre hadn’t exploded yet. If she were Lysandre, she would’ve snapped by now.

But Lysandre, remarkably, held his anger at bay. Instead, he ordered his remaining forces to attack Yveltal.

Explosions and flames engulfed the legendary Pokémon in midair, but before Lysandre could celebrate, a raging tornado erupted from the flames.

[Hurricane]

The burning gale scattered Team Flare’s trainers like leaves, leaving Lysandre staring in disbelief.

This wasn’t how it was supposed to go.

Desperate, Lysandre turned to Giovanni for help—Giovanni had promised assistance against Yveltal, after all.

But before Giovanni could act, an arrogant voice interrupted:

"Ah, so now we Rockets have to clean up your mess after all?"

Lysandre felt his forehead pulse dangerously.

But he endured again.

August raised an approving eyebrow—Lysandre’s self-control now nearly matched Giovanni’s own.

Since Lysandre had clearly requested aid, Team Rocket could hardly stand idle.

With a subtle signal from Sabrina, Deoxys streaked skyward, instantly shifting to Speed Forme. It effortlessly shattered the raging [Hurricane] tormenting Team Flare, quickly earning awed gratitude from the battered grunts below.

To them, Deoxys was practically a savior.

Meanwhile, under Lysandre’s astonished gaze, "Archer" stepped boldly forward, directly confronting Yveltal.

Was he insane? Lysandre wondered. Even Lysandre himself had struggled—how could a mere Rocket executive challenge Yveltal?

Before he finished his thought, dazzling white light erupted.

A peculiar Pokémon surged forward as a blazing wheel of electric energy, obliterating Yveltal’s next attack and colliding powerfully into the stunned legendary Pokémon.

BOOM!

Yveltal, already weakened, hurtled downward, smashing through petrified trees and scattering stone fragments everywhere.

"What… was that?" Lysandre gaped.

August glanced back casually, making up nonsense on the spot. "Team Rocket technology! Modeled after Cyclizar—quite impressive, isn’t it?"

Lysandre stared speechlessly at Miraidon hovering magnetically in midair.

Had he followed Iono’s broadcasts, he’d have immediately recognized Miraidon from its earlier appearance, clearly commanded by August.

Unfortunately, Lysandre never watched Iono’s streams—leaving him utterly fooled.

Indeed, those who didn't follow Iono were doomed.

Now, Lysandre could only marvel at Archer’s power, grudgingly understanding why the Rocket Executive had been so confidently arrogant earlier.

Knocked down and infuriated, Yveltal roared with unbridled rage, unleashing its [Dark Aura] at full force, attempting to overwhelm Miraidon.

August grinned, unfazed.

"You think you’re the only one with terrain effects?"

With a swift gesture, August activated Miraidon's [Hadron Engine], instantly blanketing the area in [Electric Terrain].

Boosted by the electrified field, Miraidon effortlessly matched Yveltal.

At full health, Yveltal might’ve been superior, but weakened from its battle with Xerneas, it clearly struggled against Miraidon’s overwhelming momentum.

Sensing imminent defeat, Yveltal desperately prepared another [Oblivion Wing]

—but Miraidon, empowered by [Electric Terrain], surged forward again as a crackling lightning wheel, slamming brutally into Yveltal before it could attack.

BOOM!

Yveltal was knocked from the sky once more, its charged attack dissipating helplessly.

"Finish it—[Thunder]!"

Electricity surged skyward before crashing down, shocking Yveltal into convulsions.

Finally defeated, Yveltal shrank rapidly into a glowing black cocoon—its Cocoon of Destruction form, dormant and powerless.

Casually, August tossed out a Master Ball, capturing the cocoon instantly.

Lysandre, though frustrated, didn’t object; their deal had given Giovanni’s side rights to Yveltal anyway.

But just as Lysandre reached to capture Xerneas as previously agreed, a firm hand suddenly blocked him.

"Wait a moment…"

Lysandre’s brows knitted furiously, tension crackling in the air.
