Send in your Q's!!!

Hey friends. we’re doing a Q and A episode this week so please send in your election Q’s!

I’ve heard a lot of people on the left/progressive side, including you guys, advocating for the abolition of the filibuster as a way of allowing progressive laws to pass. I understand the urge, but I also know that the filibuster has often been used by Dems to block right-wing policies (including building the border wall) and fight against nominations they disapproved of during the Trump administration. Wouldn’t abolishing the filibuster be a dangerous move right now, assuming the Republicans will take back power sooner than later and that their current agenda seems to be to create - or at least allow for the rise of - an autocratic regime? I feel like even if they manage to pass voter-protection laws, the Dems would be shooting themselves in the foot as we can assume de GOP would double down on their tactics once they are back in power, at which point the Dems would have effectively no recourse to block any racist voter-suppression laws - or any other anti-democracy/racist/police-state bill - the Republicans want to pass. Is the assumption that passing those laws now would prevent the Republicans from ever holding power again? Or that it would at least prevent them from running on those platforms? I guess my point is that it seems like a complex issue that has been treated like a no-brainer by the left-wing media and I'd like to hear a more nuanced take on it, or at least a solid argument to address those concerns. TLDR: Wouldn't abolishing the filibuster allow the Republicans to pass whatever bills they want (border wall, voter suppression, term limit abolition) once they get back into power?

What is going to be the title of your new podcast series where you mercilessly tear apart right wing works of fiction RiffTrax style? After listening to what you were able to do with the fictive works of Benny Shaps it would simply be a cosmic injustice if you denied your listeners, and dare I say the world, the pure unbridled perfection of such a podcast. If you did sacrifice more of your ever dwindling free time to a project like that, I would quite literally “take a bullet for you babes.”
