Just looking back at this model (I printed the tadling version recently) and was going to purchase this model.... this one would match in size with the other "Baby" sized dragons, and not the 2 foot long standard size dragons that you make, correct?

Julie Pehotsky

Printed this in burnt titanium. She looks amazing.

I came here for bat files and stayed for the discovery channel special. I jest, but I did read it all. I love bats, i think they are cute

Emre Bayraktaroglu

I'd say this is a baby one. maybe i can make an adult with double wings?

Tracy Francis

Just curious, is this one considered a "baby" dragon, its tail doesn't look as long as the adults, or is this the adult version?

John Howlstrom

My favorite mammal combined with a dragon. Thank yooooouuuuuuu!!!!!! 😍 Has anyone else ever noticed that bats basically ARE the miniature mammalian version of dragons? They fly on bony, membranous wings (which were the inspiration for the standard dragon wing design in the first place!). Many species’ faces are adorned with structures resembling horns, spikes, and frills. They are seemingly hybrid creatures, with qualities of both birds and beasts. They often inhabit caves. They have sharp teeth and insatiable appetites (typically eating half their body weight every night). While overwhelmingly harmless to us, on the scale of much smaller creatures they are among the most formidable and dreaded of predators. (Bats are such efficient insect killers that they’re thought to be the main reason many insect lineages independently evolved the ability to hear and/or produce high-frequency sound, and one species is such a voracious hunter of frogs that if you play a recording of a túngara frog’s courtship call among a hundred real courting túngara frogs, then switch it off, all the frogs will immediately fall silent, because they instinctively assume that one of their number has spotted a bat.) They shoot incredibly powerful breath-based beams from their mouths or nostrils, only sonic instead of combustive. (Bat echolocation soundwaves may not have destructive power, but they are INSANELY loud; a bat echolocating four inches from your ear has the same decibel level *on average* as a jet taking off 200 feet from your ear; you just wouldn’t know it because the frequency is above what the human ear can detect.) They are forces of nature, with crucial roles in maintaining and even restoring ecosystems (for instance, fruit bats can be considered responsible for over 85% of rainforest regeneration). They are strikingly intelligent, with various species exhibiting such sophisticated traits and behaviors as altruism, adoption, daycare, spying, social bonding, associative learning, episodic memory, individual recognition, reciprocal favors, possibly even rudimentary language. They are astonishingly long-lived for mammals their size, the lifespans of some species exceeding 20, 30, or even 40 years! They may not hoard treasure, but they produce a surprisingly useful substance that accumulates in sometimes massive piles within their dwellings (and sometimes glitters, if they have been eating a lot of shiny-shelled beetles 😜), not only valued as one of the world’s best fertilizers but historically used to manufacture explosives! And while Eastern cultures have historically associated them with spiritualism and good fortune, they’ve long suffered a very negative reputation in the West, associated with evil, darkness, pestilence, and the demonic; only in recent decades have portrayals of benign, enchanting, even endearing creatures begun to crop up amid the villainous iconography. Whether I’ve convinced anyone or not on the dragoniness of bats, surely we can all agree that they’re awesome. 😎❤️🦇
