Hotel Bunk Bed? My Shared Room Experience in Thailand

So after arriving in Bangkok, I took the airport train to my hotel — the ticket was only about Rp25,000 (2 USD). It took around 15–20 minutes to get to Phaya Thai Station.

The ticket looks similar to the ones in KL, Malaysia — shaped like a coin. I bought mine at the counter, but they also have machines available.

After arriving, I headed down to walk along the sidewalk to my hotel — just about 500–600 meters away. Pretty close! And of course, it’s no surprise seeing lots of people rolling their suitcases along the way hehe.

I was so happy when I finally spotted the hotel sign — time to rest!!

The place is called Diff Hostel. I got it for Rp215,000 (13 USD)per night — bunk bed style, and it even includes breakfast! There’s also a 100 Baht (around Rp50,000) (3 USD) deposit.

No food is allowed in the room, so if you want to eat, you can do it in the lobby. Plenty of tables and chairs there — super comfy for sure!

And here’s the room!! A total of 8 beds, mixed for both guys and girls.

There’s even a huge locker for your suitcase! But no lock is provided — you’ll need to bring your own padlock.

Each bed comes with a lamp, a power outlet, and a little cabinet to store your phone, wallet, keys, or other small stuff.

The shower and toilet are separate — and yes, they’re really clean!

“Time to pack up and go find some food!!” 🍴😋

I just went to a nearby 7-Eleven for food — it was within walking distance. Since this area has a lot of Muslims, there were plenty of halal options, even the cashier was Muslim! I spent around Rp75,000–Rp100,000, (4~6 USD)though I kind of forgot the exact amount 😅.”

After heating up my food, I ate in the hostel lobby and met a girl from Indonesia. We chatted for a bit and then went our separate ways haha.

After eating, I just wanted to freshen up and head to bed. This time, I really felt the loneliness huhu.

Here’s a full look at the hostel! They’ve got a washing machine and dryer — about Rp20,000 (2 USD) per use, with tokens you can buy at the reception. There are also toilets, showers, and more.

No smoking is allowed in the rooms, bathrooms, or lobby. But there’s a semi-outdoor area where you can smoke.

So what about tomorrow? Not sure yet — maybe shopping or maybe an onsen??

Stay tuned…
