When Nixon was president he had some people break into the hotel as part of a huge spy and espionage campaign to get at his political enemies. When the news broke he was forced to resign. So basically the movie is saying it was because of Forest that Nixon had to resign.

Later in life, he renounced his segregationist views though many believe he was more of a populist than a segregationist and was simply campaigning on views he knew his constituents wanted to hear.

Before I watchedย Forrest Gump my YouTube channel was struggling because I was trying so hard to get noticed on the platform but everything I did wasn't going anywhere. It almost felt like I was posting into the void.ย I had a good feeling going into this reaction and I hoped that the Goodwill and good vibes from this movie would translate into my channel. And you know what, it did that video is currently at 170,000 views and still growing. My channel now feels like an actual platform where I can actually Reach people who enjoy the same movies that I'm trying to watch. I just wanted to share that cuz it's been a blessing. It has everything and Tom Hanks plays the shit out of that character ๐ You're also one of the few reactors that did not demonize Jenny and actually understood where she came from and what a hard life she had and that's why she was always running away from everything. Great reaction!
