Sharing Stories with a Charming Stranger on the Train 🚂 | Pre-War | Historical Fiction | Edwardian Era | Chance Encounter | Sleep Aid

It’s 1912, and you’re preparing for a long journey. Just as you’re about to board the train, you overhear a conversation between a young lady and the ticket inspector. She seems distressed—unable to find her ticket and at risk of being left behind. On an impulse of kindness, you step in and offer to cover her fare. Moments later, you find yourselves seated in the same compartment, sharing stories about your lives, your hopes, and what awaits you both at the end of your journey…

Only humming/page turning sounds from 19:05.

(script by me, idea by Toodear4679 💕)

The lore is heavy in this one! I have too much imagination! 😦 Don't ask me about the accent, I had to watch a bit of Bridgerton before recording 😂 Whomever is able to make a list of all the historical/cultural and film/famous character/MIAB universe references/quotes I peppered in this script will get to submit some ideas for a future sleep-aid audio (one winner will be selected amongst patrons and VIP members on YT) 😉

Thank you! No part 2 for now, you are safe 😉

Is there a part two to this masterpiece? Honestly, Storm, you’ve written this perfectly and acted so well on it. I had to stop working for a moment when you stopped humming and check if there’s a part 2.

What an amazingly awesome piece! I absolutely adore historical fiction! It’s like cosplaying my favorite subject and you did amazing job! Your accent and mannerisms were historical accurate for late Victorian/early Edwardian (beginning of the 20th century). It took everything in me to stay awake during that first 20 minutes. Then your humming and page turning and the rattle of the train rolling across the tracks lulled me to sleep 😴. It took my back to my undergrad when I studied in Bath. I took the train all over England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿, and Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and meet some truly remarkable people just chatting on the train rides. I do hope we hear more of this courageous young woman and her charmingly shy benefactor. 🇬🇧 CHEERS! 🇬🇧

Awww 🥰 thank you!

Angel

Thank you so much Storm! Not even halfway through and I find it absolutely amazing! I'm playing as I mela prep late at night. You almost made me tear up at the beginning when the lady remembers her late aunt (or grandmother?). You sound like such a sweetheart. I love this period accent.

ElJuliado

Hahaha I love your enthusiasm! Thank you 🙏 ❤️

Played this for my sleep last night and drifted off so very quickly. Something about the time period, setting and story that really eases the tension off my shoulders. Noise from my housemates woke me up but then the audio was playing the part where you're humming and it SHOT ME BACK TO SLEEP immediately, like OH MY GOD. IT WAS SO SOOTHING AND TENDER. THIS IS WHY I SUBBED. THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH STORM!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Ps. Sorry for yapping hehe but I'm gonna play this again tonight and see how far I can enjoy the story before being transported to your Nirvana 🤭

Simply sensational Storm. Your script work/growth is amazing. Thanks for the lovely listen as always boss! 🙂‍↕️

Storm with a English accent is almost as awesome as Storm with a French accent. 🤗🤗🤗

that was a nice and cozy one ♥️. very quickly and softly guided me into the realm of dreams and gave me some good and recharging rest, until the headphone cable tried to assasinate me xD (yes i could use wireless headphones but for some reason i dont like them, dont judge meeeeeeeee xD)

This was a fantastic experience. The voice was on point, the atmosphere perfect for relaxing. I love train rides and they always knock me right out, so perfect sleep aid video. This was a very unexpected treat. Your voice suits the character so well. I'd love more historical roleplays too. Perhaps late Victorian or early industrial. Or basically anything in the Early Modern Period of European history. Thinking the age of East India Company defining trade etc. Gosh now I'm getting so many ideas. Anyways, thanks as always Storm<3

Inkfeather

Nice catch there, fellow history buff.

Hehe nice one! I will reveal this later ✨

I absolutely adore period pieces and historical roleplays. Phenomenal work, Storm, and I hope to see more of these in the future. (Great job with the accent, by the way.) I wasn't expecting a challenge this late in the evening, but I'll give it my best shot. The most notable is the reference to the Titanic, which sailed from Southhampton in 1912 and sank during her maiden voyage after striking an iceberg. (With that in mind, I hope the speaker accepted our offer.) This might me a stretch, but the speaker mentioned attending her friend Virginia's wedding in August of the same year. I take this friend was Virginia Woolf, who married her husband, Leonard, on August 10th, 1912. The speaker after all did discuss poetry in this friend group of theirs. Not to mention, the speaker also complained about having to save up for 4 months to travel back. There is a 4 month gap between April and August, the date of the Titanic's maiden voyage and Woolf's union respectively. The 1900's saw many gathering of women for intellectual discussions, especially regarding the subject of sufferage, which would be achieved in the UK in 1918. The time period was also known for not allowing much freedom for women, hence why the speaker's parents were so adamant on her marrying or having a chaperone. This was unfortunately all I could find.

What era should I do next? 💁🏼‍♀️

That was nothing else than just pure Art.

Every day I am reminded of what we lost with the minimal train usage in our country

Rose Reaper

Oh wow, that was really well played, good job 🫡

Juni

This is the setup to a novel I wish to read.

Wtf i stand this so hard? Please more historical roleplays

On my way, i run i wave, the women i met, frightend and brave, of what might come after or tomorrow. I saw it with their way of dreaming, they saw my strength, made it their own and a part of this lifes wonders, they did borrow.

Sikanda

I always love it when you pull out an accent or voice I haven't heard yet, you're so talented! I'm glad our "character" decided to help yours. And the humming is so soothing.

This is exactly the medicine I need for my fever. Amazing idea, amazing script. You truly have a vast imagination, and I’m always surprised by your ideas. Though my brain feels a little disconnected right now, and I'm not very familiar with that era, I couldn’t spot many references. But one thing I know for sure is that 1912 is the year the Titanic sank while crossing the Atlantic. I also think, though I might be wrong, that the character seems a bit like Coco Chanel. She opened her first shop in 1910, which is close to the period we're discussing, so that might be why I see the similarity. In any case, I’m going to enjoy this audio as I slowly drift off to sleep. Oh, and I absolutely adore the ambiance. I love a long train ride as I listen to Lana Del Rey or Storm’s audios, 🤭 that’s the definition of daydreaming for me. Once again, thank you for another masterpiece. 🤍
