HAHAHHAHAHA! It just makes sense 🤪🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

That was the 2nd Inbetweeners movie! Haha

Mandy Cane Lane

Lol, yes, quite unfortunate really 😥

Mandy Cane Lane

How would one do that? 🤔 In friends there is an episode where Pheobe has a newspaper shirt, and I love it! https://youtu.be/6nfh0CoU0tA?si=FiqPUSLXGXx3QFxb

Mandy Cane Lane

Don't mention the war! Neither of them (World 2 or Falklands 1).

Jeffrey44

Would you wear a news article as of it's an article of clothing?

Remi

oh that is a lot, sorry to hear that...i hear some cities or the capital are nicer to live in, in Argentina. but anyway makes more sense that your parents are Argentinian! just stay away from 80s and 90s Colombia ok 🤪 and parts of Brazil. Brasilia is fine

Industrialist2015ofUk

I've just been reading up on Mr Eichmann. Interesting that his trial was televised and the footage is now owned by Disney.

Jeffrey44

I didn’t have my glasses on so for a second I thought it said “Poop Show” and I thought, “WTF is Mandy watching?!”

(Just) Steve

Hitler certainly shot himself and the Soviets knew pretty quickly after a few interrogations. The most famous Nazi to go to Argentina was Eichmann who lived there for years before Mossad tracked him down and captured him.

Stuart

As a German I am of course aware that the reason people talk about escaping the law to go to Argentina is the nazis did that! Quite a few of them in Argentina and southern Brazil.

Yoshua Simoleit

You've mentioned before that you used to get a train regularly. Did you ever see Hitler amongst your fellow passengers?

Jeffrey44

I love how wank bullet has passed into the common vocab now 😁 I just have to remember never to casually say it IRL... might be a difficult explanation. "Well you see mum..."

DriveIn

Jeez. Well I hope she paid for the damage. At first I thought you meant she hit you not the car. I remember many years ago there was an old couple in a car and they were driving more and more outside of their lane, and I had to swerve out of their way and crash into the Governor's house just to avoid hitting them. Little did I realise that would have been better off hitting their car because then I could have had my damage paid for. 😁

Rusty Dog

🤗💚

Mandy Cane Lane

Ohh, so curious guys! Gonna have to check it out for sure now!

Mandy Cane Lane

Oof... long story with a lot of parts, but main plot is that my grandfather needed surgery here in Argentina so my Argentinian parents decided we should all come to support him and then when we got off the plane my parents split up, so to not divide a family between different continents, we just all stayed here and decided to be miserable but together in the same country🤍. Lol

Mandy Cane Lane

Olivia Coleman in Fleabag was such a BITCH! Marvelous acting! Hahaha

Mandy Cane Lane

Ahh yes, out of all the notches I always aim for the top one! 🙌🏻✨️🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

Hmm.. 🤔 I have no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mandy Cane Lane

HAHA! THat happened to me once reacting! I can't remember with what show, but I quickly realised and didn't say anything! 🤣🤣🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

OMG! I forgot about Yahoo! You know what? Same 🫣

Mandy Cane Lane

Hmmm... I read this, but not sure what to answer 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Tests here are way to easy as well, my ex got his license for just parking near a curb and not actually drive. He does not know how to drive, just park well enough to pass that particular test. 🤦🏻‍♀️ True disaster. Also yes, I drive Emmanuels 🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

I actually got hit by a woman once who was coming out of a parking spot on the curb because people made a two lane street out of a one lane street. She didn't see me and hit the side of my car 🤦🏻‍♀️. Driving in a city that was designed for carriages is really hectic 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

There was a TV programme where popular presenter Chris Tarrent went to Argentina and met a man who had met Hitler on an Argentine train. I didn't watch the programme but I did see him promote it on The One Show. The other guest may have been Cookie Monster. This short video features Chris Tarrent saying "Adolf Hitler" while on a train in Argentina... https://youtu.be/1YoIuV50zOU What more proof do you need? Who are you going to believe the Nazi Adolf Hitler or the not Nazi Chris Tarrent?

Jeffrey44

Well not quite a cliffhanger ending so that was good. :) I'm guessing the first or second scene in series 7 will be Sophie or Mark pushing a pram. I wouldn't be able to handle those bad drivers in Argentina if they're like that. It would do my head in. It's bad enough in the UK that people always have to leave 5-6ft between their car and the parked one they're driving past. Ending up in the middle of the road, and then the people on the other side want to do the same. They end up with 1 side driving through a big gap wide enough for 2.5 cars, while the other side wait for their turn. I learned to drive and drove for most of my life in Gibraltar. Tight narrow streets and people just managed. Leaving about 1-2ft between yourself and parked case is the norm, sometimes less than that. You just get used to it. Now I'm back in the UK, it's a shock to see the space people leave. It's as if they think there's a big chance that any parked cars door is going to open :)

Rusty Dog

There is no historical evidence at all to support Hitler moving to Argentina after facial surgery. Adolf Hitler died by suicide on April 30, 1945, in his Berlin bunker. He shot himself, and his wife, Eva Braun, took cyanide. Their bodies were then burned by his staff.

Rusty Dog

Das Boot 🤪. Not the worst driving instructor I've seen. And I've seen some pretty questionable ones believe me. There's even electric car instructors now, literally the most pointless thing you could learn in. Do you drive manual ("standard") cars Mandy? Don't worry about being negative about things, I've been having the same problem. Half my conversations always end up being morbid it's just easier and often more entertaining to be negative than be positive. Uk's heralded as one of the hardest driving tests but the easiest road rules. Europe is the opposite. I've taken the theory test for that and trust me...we have it so much easier in the UK.

Benjamin Taylor-Yates

Hitler (Adolf) must be the most well known example of someone who got facial surgery and moved to Argentina. He famously got smuggled to Argentina in 1945. If he was still alive today he would be 135 years old so we must assume he actually died in Argentina at some point within the last 80 years. Maybe that's why this episode was called Das Boot, because that was the name of a war film and Hitler was one of the players in the second world war. Das Boot was also the name of the fruit machine (or coin operated gambling machine as an American would say) that interrupted the wake for the dead old man ('The Captain') in an episode of Phoenix Nights that you reacted to. That too was based on the war film of the same name. Maybe this episode was simply called Das Boot because that is German for 'The Boat' and this episode featured a boat. It didn't feature any other German though IIRC, so that bit is still a puzzle.

Jeffrey44

I hate to say this, but my first internet experience was a year before Google existed. I used Yahoo.

Jason Webb

How'd you enjoy the show ?

garry donaldson

Thanks Mandy, great one! My brain short circuited a moment and made me think "Damn, I have to wait until next year for the next season".. I'm thankful that is not the case. And yes, I was confused about what I thought was a reference to the greatest war movie of all time.

Terje Flågan

It was a family matter. Both her parents are from Argentina, and she has talked about this before but I can't remember if she went into any more detail than that.

Terje Flågan

I mentioned this last week but I didn’t want to give away too much incase Mandy wanted to watch it in her own time 😊

AWR93

I think it's good. It's a mystery with a side of levity , very different from Peep Show.

garry donaldson

I was confused about the title too because there’s an episode where Mark watches Das Boot (it’s a movie) so I thought it was a mix up.

Julian T

Top notch as always! Thank you, Mandy. 🤗🤗

𝑭𝒆𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒚 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒗𝒆

nice one! but im gonna get Mandy to answer, since i need HER concise explanation...if she will.

Industrialist2015ofUk

For some reason our (UK) female comedic actresses can really knock it out of the park when it comes to serious roles. Olivia Colman, Julie Walters, Kathy Burke, Alison Steadman, Michaela Coel, Meera Syal, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Jane Horrocks, Daisy May Cooper and more

Sean Riley

She got an aeroplane (or airplane as an American would say) in America, fell asleep and when she woke up, everyone was speaking Spanish.

Jeffrey44

Why in Gods Green Earth, did you move from California to friggen Argentina! lol never asked but had thought it several times....id be annoyed af, at my parents.

Industrialist2015ofUk

What's it like? Any good?

John George

Just watched the first episode of David Mitchells new tv show Ludwig Mandy and there's a sort of cameo around the 20 minute mark that you'll love.

garry donaldson

Second like. Will be back to watch later
