You can try to be pragmatic and tell yourself at least you learned from the experience, it wasnt a complete waste of time. Time is the one thing that gets to me, and more so as I get older it seems. You'll never get that wasted time back. (And I've wasted soo much) Sucks that you never got your art back but you did get an education from it at least. Which one would you rather have now?

2024-10-02 01:01:41 +0000 UTCThe person who speaks over the end of the programme (and before it, but you don't get to hear those bits on these videos) to tell you what is on next and that the current programme contains strong language and scenes of a sexual nature is called a continuity announcer. All the main channels have them. I think it's a pretty unique UK thing though. The rest of Europe don't seem to have them and America would fill the air time with adverts instead. Channel 4 have had continuity announcers with all kinds of accents and voices. They have had one with Tourettes before and even black and/or gay ones. BBC One sometimes has a different Continuity Announcer for Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Southern England and Northern England, all live, even though most of the time they will all be saying the same thing and introducing the same programme at the same time. Who you hear, depends on where you live. I like it, it it makes the channel seem live rather than just an automated playlist. Young people, such as yourself, only watch streaming though apparently, so continuity announcers days are probably numbered. You youngsters ruin everything. 2024-10-01 17:22:42 +0000 UTCThere's no real secret - I live cheap. I have an ยฃ80k flat, a ยฃ14/h job doing 45h a week on busses. I don't drink, don't smoke, I only buy what I can afford and I'm just well....lucky I guess. It just so happend I was 20 mins away from the cheapest and easiest flying school in UK. Went to a decent school, grew up in a nice area. Yeah, just luck. I must have been a saint in a previous life or something. Plus being single, I mean I'd prefer a partner sure, girls are awesome but usually expensive...(No offense Mandy ๐) It does give me anxiety tho, I'm wondering when an inevitable massive set back is gonna hit me. But, I do my paperwork, pay my bills and ask for help when I need it. I fix things as they break as it's just so much less stress than putting them off. For so many things in life: 'the difference is effort' I try to surround myself with interesting people and experiences and learn stuff. It's about who you know, not always what you know that gets you these opportunities. Plus you get so much more perspective. Best way is to just put your name down for everything, go to clubs etc. As opposed to sitting in the pub every week having the same conversations over and over again. Traveling isn't too expensive if you just go for a few days or even one day. Flights are cheap if it's one or 2 of you, it's hotels as well that put a boot in your wallet. I book hostels as they're cheap, I'm with company and I don't need any fancy facilities I just need somewhere to leave my suitcase whilst I'm out for the day and somewhere to sleep when I come back. It's such a nice atmosphere and a great place to meet people usually. I don't sit in hotels for the entire holiday like many people, I go out and see the country that I've just paid ยฃ80 return flight to get to. And I book different places. It's okay going to hot countries like Spain and Maldives but they're just holiday resorts and package stuff. I want to go into the countryside away from tourism and see how the locals live. I usually go on getyourguide.com and organise a local to take me round. I'm hoping to do Norway next. Most importantly - I take my work holidays where I can or else I get burn out. Another thing for me is in A-level psychology I learnt that scientists have found that there is no known limit to human memory. So I took that as you can learn as much as you want so you may as well do everything! You get slower with age but it still goes in. I sit up at night watching YT videos. Like last night I was watching Veritasiums videos about how QR codes work. You stop living when you stop learning. And finally, I just don't get into dramas. Best way to remove an enemy is make a friend. Never be too proud to apologise and suddenly the world becomes a much less intense place. You've got 80 years of life ticking away so wtf does one achieve by holding a grudge and being miserable???
