I'm Back, Baby!
Added 2025-10-02 19:28:36 +0000 UTCSchedule is FINALLY getting back to normal, and I'm steadily recovering from all the insanity. The rest of this week will be a bit crazy as I get my head back in the game, but there'll be some work happening in the background.
While I was busy, I worked on some ideas for future game content, and I cooked up a decent framework for how I'll be rolling out content going forward.
In Enter the Expansion Mansion, version releases were primarily done on a room-by-room basis. That has been the plan for the sequel from the beginning: add a new location and its content, one at a time. That's worked okay so far, but I've adjusted my workflow to have less frequent "clean" version releases. Plus, this game has a LOT more interconnection of locations/items/characters/etc. and a more loosy-goosy plan for what's getting added when/where.
All that means adding a single location might affect seven other locations in ways I hadn't yet anticipated while originally creating those locations. So, I've got a new plan: themed updates.
For each clean release, I'll go into it with a rough plan of the content to add. The content in a given clean release will be mostly/partially themed around a certain aspect I'm plugging into the game (whether that's a new item, new kink, new character, new location, etc. will vary).
For example, the new location added in the latest rough release introduces an element that will add interactive options to quite a few other locations (both those already included and those planned for the future). It's also an element that was SPECIFICALLY requested by one of my awesome True BEliever Patrons. All this bundle of new options, items, and locations will be fleshed out as the "Up and Away" Update. It'll include at least 4 or 5 new locations and plenty of new stuff for the existing ones.
For the future, I'm already looking at a couple of other themed updates. These include: Down Where It's Wetter, BEEG, Hissy Fit, Arrrrr-Rated, Riddle Me This, Hell of a Good Time, and many more stupidly named ideas. Once I get further along in this one, I'll likely put up a poll to determine which update will be next.
In the meantime, I'm back to it!
