Status Update

Looks like the boob-update did it's job. Wanted to give everyone a quick update on things. Mainly, I wanted to explain why you have not seen the release I was talking about for last weekend. I know that in the past I would often ignore the missed release and move on without ever putting anything out. I don't want that to happen this time, and I am still planning on getting something playable to you soon. Things were not ready Monday and I unfortunately did no significant work on the game this week (Tues-Fri). I am opening up things now and hoping to get a bit done tonight and work on it more this weekend, but I am not planning on simply moving on without a release.

One other important note, I am looking for anyone with knowledge on javascript who might be able to port working RPGM VXAce scripts to RPGM MV plugins. The person who had helped me in the past let me know earlier this week that he simply doesn't have time to be able to work on the remaining scripts. I've put out  a couple requests, but have not heard anything yet. This would be paid work, so if it's something you might be interested in, please either message me here or on Discord.

That's why I made the post, is the release I wanted last Monday is not very far away. But, I didn't get much time to work on it this week. I should have time both night this weekend and hopefully next week will be more clear. My current goal is this coming Monday (for what it's worth). That's based on my current schedule where I'll have almost half of Monday to work on the game.

So is there an ETA then? I mean, you were confident Monday last week was fine - how many more actual days work do you need? Surely it can't be many? Please stop being such a perfectionist for your first alpha release - people will expect bugs and not super polished artwork where every shadow and line is drawn to perfection - we just want to play the game and are willing to pay you for it. Now shut up and take my money!

I'm trying not to be the old YummyTiger. The old yummytiger would have disappeared and not made another post for a few months. I've no intention of doing that this go around, and I'm going to try and be brutally honest. When I don't have time to work or don't get things done, I'm going to let you guys know. It'll make some people angry, but it's better than what I've done in the past.

Well, my hope is that since I have working scripts for VX Ace, that some of the workload is already done. I was also told that Ruby and JS have some similarities that might make it easier. I've posted requests in other places, including RPG Maker forums, so I only posted it here in case I got lucky and someone happened to have the expertise. I'm not counting on this one panning out. What needs to be done: 1 simple 11 line script that runs an event on menu exit 1 MV script modification which changes the equipment menu background picture based on current faceset Port the combat system that was based on MOG-Hunter scripts which have been ported to MV. So the custom additions need to be ported Port the custom achievements system

I highly suspect that your difficulty won’t be to find somebody who knows JavaScript but somebody who knows RPGM MV. Game engines always come with a lot of bells and whistles that are really useful when you know them (that’s the entire point of a game engine) but that will leave you scratching your head when you don’t, even when you’re familiar with the “basic” programing language. What is the quantity of work left to do? How many scripts, how many lines of code are you talking about?

You plan to release the game THIS month (which has only TWO WEEKS left) and you haven't even ported your whole codebase as a first pass? Additionaly you CAN'T EVEN PROPERLY CODE YOURSELF? Are you honestly that deluded, that you believe this will work out in time? You DO realize that testing the whole shebang can't just be handwaved? Furthermore... didn't you just complain a few weeks ago that you are broke? What rates are you even able to afford for that paid work?
