How do you top the high that comes with having saved the realm from The Absolute, an Illithid Invasion, several demonic and/or devilish forces, a hag, and so on and so on?

Turns out, you don't.

Shadowheart, Lae'zel, and Karlach - in their own ways - miss the adventure and crave that sense of purpose. When the latter suggests that the former two join her for some light mercenary work, it seems like a fun excuse to get the band back together! Or at least, part of it.

All the beer they can drink and royal coffers to pay up for the bar tab, but there's nothing to do but sit around and reminisce about the good old days! It's not a great trade-off, but at least they're getting paid for it.

Perhaps a little too much. They don't do much to earn their keep around here, and if Karlach is any indicator things could get awfully flabby...
