Next video previews: BfA state of the game

In my previous post I mentioned that the next video I'm working is quite long in length. Rightfully so, because it's a review of BfA in its current 8.1.5 state. I've been chipping away at this one for months trying to figure out the best way to approach it. In this one I mention what BfA has done right and what its done wrong in my eyes. As some of you know, BfA has had its fair share of troubles. I don't think it's as bad as most people make it out to be, but I do have some issues with the game that I address in this video.
It's looking to be around 40 minutes in length, which is why I'm giving extra time for you all to vote on that poll this month(check below if you haven't seen that yet).
I'm a bit nervous about this one actually since BfA in general is a sore subject right now. It seems that drama goes hand in hand with it, so I'm not sure how people will react to it. I hope that my criticism is constructive though, and that people take it as such. Attached is the voice-over and script. You can expect the EA within a few days if things go as planned. I've actually been having lots of computer troubles recently which is annoying - hopefully I can resolve it soon and get some more time on actual editing.
After this video is finished, I'll of course get to work on whatever wins the poll. Lots of good choices this month I think so go vote!
I was also thinking of finally making a Patreon video for the channel. I've had this page for 3ish years I think, and I've never made a public video discussing it(just the unlisted one you see embedded on the main page). This is another video that makes me nervous as money in general is a sensitive subject and I've never brought it up aside from the end-of-video links and whatnot. What are your thoughts on that? Good idea? Bad idea? Thanks for any advice if you have any.
Anyways, I'm off to edit and combat blue screens for a while before bed.

I do try to take all views into consideration with everything I do, and I think this is no different. Thanks to both you and your son for the kind support! And yeah, you might want to hold off on that one until he's a bit older LOL.

I've been spending my time on Vanilla private servers and at times it does get stale. So of course I get that itch to re-sub and before I actually do so I always look through forums and various articles. Things I read, as most of us know, never shed a positive light on BFA, so needless to say I have yet to come back. I thought about it as recent as last week, only to see the two new races that are available. I thought "Heck yeah!!" only to read about the grind that would be ahead just to get these. As a lover of all things Vanilla-WotLK, I do not mind a grind, but I somehow just can't accept having to unlock races. These were things you got along with xpacs and now it's just a horrible carrot on a stick (no not the Trinket). I will come back for classic of course. So Madseason, I'm not expecting a convincing argument to come back to current content, but I always love how when I watch your videos that you get me to actually think about the good with the bad. To take certain things with a grain of salt. Can't wait to hear your take man and it'll be great to get another 40 min to watch. Thanks again! P.S. My 7 year old son Garrin who only plays Roblox and Minecraft loves it when I have your videos on and so he too is now a Patron :D I threw it in his allowance LOL....oh and no I don't let him watch the clips of the Onyxia wipe etc. :D

This is just my opinion, and personal preference, but I cannot imagine being inspired to support a content creator by a video with that purpose in mind. You could consider adding a "if you enjoyed this video, please consider..." at the end of each video. Kelani does this particular well- thanking his supporters, adding "if you'd like to join these lovely guys and girls..." - it's unobtrusive, polite and mildly amusing. A dedicated video specifically about the channel might come across as rather heavy handed unless, perhaps, it is outrageously funny and disarming in it's own right. I dunno. Just my thoughts. I'd love to be proved wrong and see your support quadruple!

2019-04-07 20:34:17 +0000 UTCConcerning the drama: I never saw you go into a perfectly subjective only speach, you are always taking other points of view into consideration; so, it's internet so you may get some rage but I don't think that many will be offended by your work while many will be interested and even happy to have you putting words where we just have unclear thoughts! ;)
