When this episode aired, there was a lot of criticism about Nick's "illness" at the bonfire. In a scene deleted in the final edit, David confronts Nick about Charlie. This happens after school, but before Nick goes to the bonfire. Nick is already stressed out when David tells him that outing himself to their father would, "...just give Dad another excuse to avoid seeing you." This, of course, pushes Nick over the edge, but Charlie and Nick's mom never knew about it. Unfortunately, viewers never knew about it, either.
