Guys who want to carry a gun around all day have such a tiny penis the gun doesn't bother it.

Max

As a person who can get pregnant and a woman I will never give anyone who voted to take away my rights grace. They will never get forgiveness. They have taken my bodily autonomy away. It's legislative rape. And I hate them. If they need me to be kind and welcoming to them so they won't continue to injure me they don't need to be welcomed. I'm not going to allow my justified emotions and reactions to be held hostage for their future good behavior. And, while y'all can welcome them in- becareful about it. They aren't safe. Being to kind and compassionate and bringing them into the fold will give them access to us, the people they hurt. If they don't do any other work to unlearn everything else they are still doing harm. Do you know how common it is to see "I was wrong about abortion, I didn't know this! (But also people who get too many abortions or use it as birth control are horrible slits.)" This misogyny and bad thinking is deep. And remember, as men who cannot get pregnant and have not lost your rights you cannot accept their apology on our behalf. Whatever grace you extend them be even more thoughtful to the hurt allies on your side.

So hot take for Tom, Freddy’s sells a frozen custard that is peanut butter cups and actual slices of banana, and it’s outstanding. As far as forgiving people who seem to change their mind, proof is in the pudding, gotta demonstrate that they are changing before I’ll give them any grace.

Richard Stifle

Well, you can throw away that motherfucker in North Carolina. He gave that emotional "i was wrong" speech during discussions of an even more restrictive ban. When the time came to vote on the bill that was obviously going to pass, he bravely abstained.

Deadeye Nick

On granting "grace" to those who realize they are wrong: While I agree that I can forgive when a mind changes, I do not forget. If they are truly ashamed of their actions and contrite for their past deeds, they will resign any position of legislative power they have. Period. They have proven themselves unable to listen and only able to learn too late. Neither are qualities to have and hold as a politician. Hold these people to political fire forever, and let them make their way as a private citizen. Their decisions lead to deaths and horrific poverty for at least 2 generations of people. You don't get a do-over on that.

What in the actual...look, I think a lot of people are fed up and just don't know what step is the first. But one of us has to go first.

Jessi

For welcoming mind changers. I'm for it, but I would be just a little more hesitant than you guys seem to be. My question for a potential ally of this sort would be 'So how will you avoid being wrong in the future?' That needs a pretty good answer for mine.
