2022-02-23 01:23:35 +0000 UTCThis Sunday, my mother's cousin died. She was an RN, the primary care giver for her son with Cerebral Palsy and her mother. She was anti-vaxx and when she got covid, she ended up on a ventilator, on oxygen and going through speech therapy and still refused to get vaccinated. Her family was surprised when she passed, while my branch has been planning for her funeral for weeks, just waiting for the call. Her brothers have been shuffling their lives around to take care of their mom and they can't believe she died. All of this is to say that the deathbed conversion of the antivaxx lunatics extends to the family of these people, because they are none of them vaccinated either, and even watching Judy slowly waste away hasn't changed their stance. I have to tell myself that not feeling bad for them doesn't make me a bad person because I have always been pro-choice across the board.

2022-02-21 22:14:43 +0000 UTCColumbus has terrible winter driving, too. It’s not because they’re assholes like in Chicago, but Columbus drivers are inherently terrible. They don’t know how do drive in any amount of snow. Compound that with the utter lack of plows (they didn’t plow my street for an entire season, despite a 15inch snowfall), and even the lightest dusting can stop traffic for hours.

As for cannabis, I can only speak for myself but it helps alot more than drinking for my mental health. I don't smoke, smoking is bad no matter what it is. Burnt stuff does not belong in your lungs.
