BYAMPOD EARLY ACCESS: An Hour Before It's Dark - REVIEWED!

Beware spoilers. You won't want to listen to this if you prefer to hear to the new album without any preconceived notions. We go in-depth with many of the lyrics... and get completely out of our depth in trying to describe the music.

Warning: it gets VERY emotional. But then, so does the absolutely amazing album that we're talking about.

If you would prefer to hear me embarrassing my wife over her farting, just listen to the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes.

Episode 69. Nice!

Comments

Thanks, mister.

Brilliant. Was doing great until about the hour mark and the discussion on mortality, ageing and the importance of treasuring what is left. Yeah that got me. You both discussed it in such a beautiful way though. As a middle aged person coming to terms with the realisation I’ve probably lived half my life already that resonated with me, but yeah it doesn’t have to be a completely sad realisation. Wonderful episode.

Fear All You Hear - Gareth

Thank, John. Hugs back atcha.

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

Thank you for your review. I can’t really write much as I can hardly see my phone screen through my tears. You sods. I’ll take this review over ANY industry review. Hugs.

El Dorado I like, but I really have to be in the right mood for it! The Leavers and White Paper I can listen to at any time!

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

What a lovely comment. Thanks, Simon. Really appreciate that. You're going to love the album.

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

Also, I love your comments on Jim Steinman, Montreal, and El Dorado. I feel the same about all three points. Re: El Dorado, I GREATLY prefer the song in the mid-section of Fear rather than leading off the album.

Sugar Mouse

What a great episode. After reading the description, I was prepared to hear you and Sanja getting emotional over the album, but I wasn't expecting to get emotional myself. In a world of media, both social and mainstream, that's full of bravado, cynicism, insincerity, superficiality, contrivance and trend chasing, it's so great to hear people speaking with genuine enthusiasm, passion and emotion about things that mean so much to them. If you ever wonder why people listen to and watch your output, this is why. You're just bloody lovely people. Can't wait to get my copy of the album!

Simon Lee Tranter

I'm genuinely a bit ashamed about those book-ends.

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

Begins with a fart, ends with a fart, that's BYAMPOD.

Nice. Noyce.

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

Nice, so hyped for this now :)

Gareth Noyce

You're welcome, Shane.

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

Thank you. Beyond excited now. Shane xxx

Shane McKie

This is good. We've successfully tempered your expectations!

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

We'll definitely be doing that!

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

I'm stealing that, now we're inner circle.

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

Paul and Sanja - Shillmarillion πŸ˜‚. Only joking, great to hear how much you love the new album.

Stephen Wicks

Great episode! Bit weird listening to you talking about stuff we’re not already familiar with. Would be interesting to hear you review your review in, say, a year’s time?

Ed Martin

Melodic Marillion - the best. Cut and paste songwriting/abrupt changes Marillion - not so much (if there's another Montreal, I'm skimming the CD across the room). Now slightly anxious after loving everything I've heard of the album so far.
