Today on: The worst art anyone has ever turned in

now its story time:
every other day im contacted by people on instagram who are like im a 3d artist. do you need any work?
which first of all, i dont know how they are finding me, and i also dont know why they think i need help. i do. but how do they know that.
majority of them have like 8 things in their profile. which is surprising. i expect more. its almost suspicious.
but this one had like actual good art. they even had videos of doing art! like sketches, to adjustment, to line art, to color, to finished. the whole thing. and im like, ok, you can draw REALLY good. make my freya chibi. and they did. and she was pretty good.
so when it came time to actually make something big, i trusted them to do it. and somehow they lost all their talent like right there.
not to mention, this looks like they traced lonely pillows design.

i had another incident today. one of these artists begged me to higher them. like they called me on instagram. CALLED ME! they quoted me $100 to model something. and im like "lol are you serious"
then they sent me this as an example of work they have done.

"holy shit, you modeled, rigged, posed and digitally painted that? how much to do that kind of paint job on a different model?" 

"$100"
(now at this point, this is clearly bonkers. the prices are WAY off. and im prety sure thats an AI drawing. but im gonna call his bluff.) i tell him i will not pay unless he blocks out the model. once he does, i will pay HALF.
so he sends me this.

oh shit. thats actual zbrush.
maybe hes not full of shit. fine. i pay $50.
hours later, "mam im almost done" "mam can you review?"
and they send this

excuse me? what do you mean you are almost done? where did the blocked out pose go? these are also 2 completely different models!
so i ask "where is the armor? the pose? everything else?"
to which he replies "oh, did you want accessories? that will be extra."
and im like, "no. no no. i gave u a picture, u gave me a price. you dont go back on that. even if you lose money cause u quoted badly, you finish the deal. thats how it works. professionals do not change their prices. those extra things do not cost money. they cost time and effort."
and he comes back with "how would you know? i have been a 3d artist for over 5 years"

to which i replied "because i have been a 3d artist for 15 years! i know all the shit you are doing"

then he got mad "well then why did you higher me?" and i said "because i support starting out artists! but you clearly cant do this job."

so we argued about that for a bit and eventually hes like "let me finish the piece at no extra charge. i will get you the piece tomorrow"
ok, sure you will. that would be incredible that you finish an A+ piece in a day. but i let him try.

point is, i think this is a new scam. just people with stolen accounts and ai, just passing themselves off as artists.

so if you think your bad at art. look up at that drawing someone turned in. i paid that person $300. and they gave me a drawing with 2 different sized eyes and went "do you have any notes, cause ive gone as far as i can"
