State of the Game - December 30, 2025

Hey, everybody. A lot has happened since the last written devlog update, so let's just get right into things.

Starting with the most significant thing, you can now spawn in multiple characters at once into the hub area! You can also focus on whichever one you like by clicking the icons on the lower left. I haven't really figured out portrait previews, so for now, each button just has the corresponding character's initial.

I'm not sure where to cap the limit at the max amount of characters you can have loaded in at a time. The character models are a bit high-poly, so I don't want anyone's system to chug. I might feel it out with time.

Continuing on, we have the return of the side panel (still an obvious WIP), with 2 main tabs: you current character's info, and the Gretta's Grocery panel. The info panel currently show's all the different regions of your character's weight, as well as their food preferences (more on that later).

For Gretta's Grocery, food currently doesn't cost any money (because you have no way to earn it yet). So feeding citizens is more of a sandbox experience right now. And thanks to a bunch of trial and error and a very helpful YouTube tutorial, you can now click and drag food from the menu and place it in the world.

If a citizen is close enough to sense it, they will walk toward it and start eating it. The speed that they eat will depend on the size of the food, and their personal eating speed stat (right now, every one has the same stat performance, as there is currently no in-game way to change it). If multiple citizens lock on to the same food, the calories will be divided depending on how long each of them have been eating.

You can also drag food directly on a citizen for them to eat it (contemplating whether or not to keep this an option).

In other versions of CCC, specific foods would give buffs to specific regions of your characters' bodies. Now it's a bit different. Foods all have their own standard attributes that relate to them. Donuts are sweet, fries are greasy and salty, steak is meaty, etc. However, in the character creator, you now choose how particular food attributes will affect your character. I like this approach because it gives more variety and customization to the player.

There's a variety of different food attributes in the game, but currently the main attributes that can affect your citizen are carbs, sugar, grease, meat, and dairy. I don't want to get too hyper specific with these, but if you think of any other general food attributes that would be a good fit, be sure to let me know.

I've started adding audio as well, but it's not very far along. Just super standard stuff like re-implementing eating sounds.

Now obviously the game is a far ways off from being "finished". But I think things are at the point where I can start prepping for a first release. There's not too much to do, but the core loop is there, and it would be nice to get that out to people to test drive. There's stuff I'd still like to implement for a first release, like skirt/dress support, but that might have to wait.

The main thing holding me back at this point and that's adding assets to the Character Creator. One thing I really care about when it comes to this game is people being able to make whatever characters they want. So even though this is a first release, I still want to launch with enough creator assets that are generic enough for a wide umbrella of creativity. Rest assured, all of the previous Patreon creator assets will be re-implemented at some point. Some even at launch. But at the currently moment, I'm trying to add as much "generic" stuff as possible. So some assets that are a bit hyper specific may come a bit later. Hope that's alright. Please let me know if you have an issue with that, and I'm sure we can figure something out.

If everything goes to plan (lol as if), I would REALLY like to get a first build out around the end of January. I'm gonna try my darnedest to try to meet that deadline. But that's gonna be it for the current devlog. Back to work!

It gonna be fun seeing all my chubby, obese, and blobs characters in that area. Can't wait to test it!
