105 Is About the Technology We've Moved on From...

...which raised an interesting question for us: were there some beautiful sweet-spots in our lifetime's history where a given technology was the perfect balance of simple but effective. I've thought a lot about this conversation since we had it and I can't thank you enough for making it happen.

There truly is something unique about reading a physical book. I'm an observant Jew so I celebrate shabbat (the sabbath) every week and during the week I basically never pick up a physical book because I'm listening to podcasts or audible and then on shabbat since I can't do those things I read physical books or papers and it ends up being a more mindful experience. I have a bunch of books in both digital and physical and there is definitely a difference. I find that when I read a physical copy my mind wanders and imagines more and it ends up being a more encompassing and free flowing experience than listening, which ends up being a curated experience.

Such an old man "technology is rotting your brain!" episode lol These are the kinds of episodes I wish I had a microphone on to just say "Um, No."
