Maybe, but we don't always control how we respond to art. Jon for the most part reacts to this show the way I did when I was an anime only. I only really learned to appreciate jjk on its own terms when I decided to read the manga. It's still not my favorite but I feel like I know how to like it now. And idk if i would have ever gotten here on the show alone, the deluge of exposition and the speed the subtitles go by and the heavy reliance on a narrator didn't encourage me to dig in and think analytically in anime form the way it did in comic form.

Where JJK can leave me wanting in terms of plot pacing and worldbuilding it can also blow me away when it comes to the fights and particularly the power scaling. It really is consistent enough that the attentive reader/watcher, if they understand everyone involved, can usually predict who's going to win any given fight. Because unless there's some interference or the conditions change, the stronger person is gonna win And this ep is a great showcase of the level-up in power the story as a whole is taking right now. We know how badass Nanami & Old Man Zen'in & Maki are but they almost got killed by Zoidberg then got one-tapped by Jogo. These Disaster Curses are powerful enough wipe out multiple Grade 1 Sorcerers at once. And it puts in even starker context how freakish Gojo is, he was playing with Jogo like a toy in his own domain in S1
