What type of game would interest you most?
Added 2026-01-02 18:48:37 +0000 UTCHey guys, happy new year! This year, I will start with the dev of my game. I have been working in the prototypes of 2 pixel art games, and I’m undecided about which one to create first, I’d be interested in your opinion on what type of game you’d be most interested in.
Game A:
Top-Down RPG inspired in Yume Nikki, Undertale, Touhou project, Ib, Omori, Mad father, The Witch's House. Turn-based fights like Earthbound, Omori with shoot em up mechanics like Undertale and rhythm mechanics that I just invented. Breaks the fourth wall as part of the mechanics like Doki Doki Literature Club!. Story is a girl who lost her memories, lost within an endless darkness, feels like a dream, sometimes like a nightmare. She will face her fears in order to find the exit. Funny NPCs and bosses like Undertale to interact with, but also creepy bosses coming for the fears of the protagonist like Omori. Female high school students, inspired in Jill from VA-11 Hall-A or danganronpa characters.
Game B:
Top-Down Open world RPG inspired in the classic Pokémon games, from blue/red to Black and white 2, With Cozy vibes inspired in Stardaw Valley (but not a farm game) with monster-collecting mechanics, Pixel Art graphics more detailed as my old Pokémon emerald wallpaper. Basically a spiritual successor of the classic games as if game freak had continued the same line of classic Pokémon games after B&W 2 but improving them by adding more features like Online interaction with other players in the open world, with offline mode also available, modern pixel art graphics with a mix of 2D and 2.5D, Castelia City from B&W2 is a good example, Improved UI, resource management, sandbox elements, non-linear progression etc...
Thanks for help!

I think Game A is safer marketing wise, online elements are a bit tough to get right, either sounds interesting enough though
