Jax - sketch

"Child in the dark. To whom will you call out? To Mother, or to Father?"

"To both. And I know that both will listen. I am both their child. I am the light that hides in shadow. I am both the blazing sun and the starry sky. I am the sword and I am the dreamer, I am valour and I am redemption. I am the son of a holy warrior and a demon. And I intend to do them both proud."

Playing my Pathfinder character Jax again on Sunday, and the story is starting to get more and more epic. (Only the first part of that dialogue above has happened, but I'm waiting for the moment to drop the other half. Jax is finally accepting  his inheritance, and I’m so here for it.)

Edited to add: For a good while, the DM wanted me to choose between the deities Iomedae (honour, valour, justice, the deity of Jax' Paladin father) and Desna (night, dreams, freedom, the deity of his redeemed Succubus mother), because RPGs somehow always want to force you to enter one deity under "religion". I've always found that weird. Pantheons simply don’t work that way. Apollo isn't jealous if you ask Poseidon for a safe sea voyage.

I love the symbolism of him serving two gods! And ditto the butterflies/flames around him.

Great! Jax is back!
