Thanks to all who gave your ideas for future Tolkien horses! I will definitely do Shadowfax, Bill, and very probably a Black Rider's horse. (Yay for at least two non-white horses!) Bill will be fun.
Fun trivia: In the German translation, Bill was weirdly named "Lutz". My brother had a friend named Lutz, and it felt totally incongruous.

2020-05-25 17:23:44 +0000 UTCI can only assume that they didn't want to use "Willi" because that name was so firmly linked to Biene Maja (much like Astrid Lindgren's Emil became Michel in the German translation, so as not to collide with Emil und die Detektive) - although of course that doesn't explain why they went for Lutz of all names! Some of the name translations in Brave New World are also incomprehensible. OK, 'translating' names is just generally odd!

2020-05-25 13:47:15 +0000 UTCBeautiful! In the Danish version, Bill is ‘Jens’, a very common Danish name. But it confused me a lot when I started reading all the English ‘Supporting information’ without having read the book in English first!
