Hey Folks,
Here is another episode, talking about the "how´s" and the "why´s"... sometimes that leads to a wild mixture, in this video, we will talk about what to keep in mind when you choose a display base/plinth for your contest entry- and also how to make realistic concrete.

We are gathering all the material that we need for our base, next to the premade parts that you can buy, we want to also add material that is hand-made, something 100 % unique.
In the process of the building, this ensures that we have a strong personal note. Next to the WH40K cathedral elements, the ruin parts of the dragon base, and some fantasy building bits, we will be using the steel enforced concrete, some tiles made in a pressmold, but also exotic stuff like eggshells to give the whole diorama a personal twist.
The tile floor is done, in the very same way as we have created it for the lord of change.
I wanted to make sure that we create a good blend between a sci-fi 40K look and a historical look. So the idea is to create the look of a modern collapsed building with broken concrete floor with the rebar irons showing and add a layer of more historical elements, like the ornated tiles, the bricks, etc. as an additional layer on top.
In this video, we will create our realistic miniature concrete!
In the next video we will finally build the whole diorama.

Alright
