CTR 2.1 and 5025 MHz!

I'm preparing a revolution in CTR 2.1 for YOU.
Manual profile P0 with a frequency of 5025MHz+ (for Ryzen 9 Zen 3 / Ryzen 7 Zen 3) and 4950MHz+ for Ryzen 5 Zen 3!
No throttling and no stretching. This will be released next week.

This will also be available for Zen 2, but not immediately.

Example:

Ryzen 9 5900X , 5025MHz ,  CINEBENCH R20 SINGLE CORE 651!

CTR 2.1 and 5025 MHz!

Sorry ima day late but Happy Birthday Yuri!

im loving CTR and happy birthday brother!:) keep up the awesome work.

I will try to publish instructions for Linux users that will partly compensate for the lack of CTR in this operating system. This will most likely happen at the beginning of March.

Yuri Bubliy

AMD is now making very active changes to AGESA, so I am in no hurry to update the calculator. Otherwise I have to publish a new version every week. There are almost no changes regarding Zen 2. I can recommend CAD 24 20 24 24 , procODT 43 , SOC 1.1 -1.15 , VDDG IOD 1.05-1.1 and VDDG CCD 1.0-1.05 for all configurations. The other settings are identical.

Yuri Bubliy

Thanks <3

Yuri Bubliy

Happy Birthday Yuri!

If I had only answered the questions, CTR development process would have stayed in the same place. Or do you think that I have a staff of 40 employees and I constantly have free time?I didn't even have free time for myself on New Year's Eve. I didn't have time for Christmas, I didn't have time to celebrate my birthday on February 4th. I spend all my free time on the community, and you write such comments. Whenever possible, I try to answer everyone. If a question arises because the user doesn't want to read the instructions, that's not my problem.

Yuri Bubliy

These people pay $20 per month and don't even get replies? Lol. This is looking like a complete waste of money. Yuri you need to reply to some of these people man. I'm not liking what I'm seeing here.

Really excited to try this one for sure. Finally I wont emby people with the Dark Hero :D

Gabriel

Sounds very promising! I'm looking forward to try it out on my cousins PC. Another thing, I will get my own 5900X in March and I use Linux only. For testing the CPU I certainly can use Windows and enter the values in the Uefi, but what should I do with the PBO Settings? Can I enter them as well?

Hi @Yuri! :) Thanks for all your work and amazing products! I know that it is not the right topic, but I want to ask if you played with Ryzen calculator and Zen 3? I spend last 7 days on it and It seems that everything works fine if we use calculator for zen 2, except voltages and termination block and CAD bus. First I leave that on auto. Then I had to lower voltages. It looks like voltages for VDDG and cLDO needs to be much lower for 1900-2000 FCLK than calculator tells you. And it seems like there are 40mv steps. and cLDO and CCD can be the same (0.9V). You maybe have some quick tips? :) And also GDM enabled on my b-die is a must. Maybe we just need another bios update... Thanks :)

Yes, you can only use P2 and P0. If you don't need P1 - leave it empty. But in any case, I advise you to wait until the end of the week, I am preparing a very important update. Thank you for your patience.

Yuri Bubliy

Hi! My recommendation is to tune the RAM first (overclock it or adopt XMP profile) and then use CTR. Keep in mind that the more the RAM is overclocked the worse the CPU category will be (insignificantly). This is because the processor is more stressed (therefore it has more performance). Also keep in mind that diagnostics is just a rough estimate and this estimate can change depending on many factors (I wrote about it in my guide). I often gold can become silver. And if you run diagnostics again, it's gold again. Fluctuation in results is a natural phenomenon.

Yuri Bubliy

Question Yuri about the silicon quality: Should we run the “diagnostic” on auto ( default bios etc) or should we run “diagnostic” with the ram timings etc.... how should we proceede and based on which scenario should we consider a chip BRONZe, SILVEr, GOLd ? Thanks for the answer!

Xdrqgol

I know you will be releasing more info next week but is the P0 profile something we can use now? If so, how to you apply it? I mean, if I wanted to enable hybrid OC using my P2 profile, would I apply the P2 and the P0 or does it work automatically?

Morgan Ring

Hey Yuri, is there a more precise plan for the release date than next week? Can't wait to test this out. Mainly because my attempts to combine CTR and curve optimizer have pretty much failed. :-)

Riwwelorsch

So with this Manual P0 OC, I can set P1 and have CTR use both these settings in Hybrid Mode?

84wayz

I updated to Agesa 1.2.0.0 and the new chipset drivers today. For me nothing has changed while diagnostic or tuning process.

Riwwelorsch

This is exciting

Hello. The AMD chipset drivers were updated today. If I update them, should I re-tune them from the beginning ?

Have you ever thought about the fact that the program is mostly aimed at people who have relatively little experience with overclocking? You can test your preferred settings for stability yourself. I take the recommendation of the tuning process as just that: recommendation (or a basis for further optimization)

Riwwelorsch

This is NORMAL , It is in development! The released to public one , it is much stable but missing these new features.Be patient and things will get better every version! :)

Xdrqgol

Folloup: after like 3 hours of testing at the stage of profile 2 the app crashed, no message, no output. Needs to be worked on, really.

famich2005

CTR is not agressive enough IMHO. By the way, how CTR is working when booting up the computer and applying the recommended profiles? Thanks.

famich2005

Basically the same for me. Manual OC / 4750ccx1 and 4675ccx2 working here at max 1.328V/.

famich2005

Cinebench -> File -> advanced benchmark ;)

Yuri Bubliy

This problem has been eliminated in this version. I advise you to delete the old configuration files. usarname/AppData/local/A - delete everything in this folder and try again.

Yuri Bubliy

This beta is very unstable for me, for example P0 profile gets stuck easily when changing values, and sometimes i get the 540mhz stuck and the computer becomes unresponsive and the only way to fix it is by restarting. Finally, my boost are not that good compared to CO. I will wait for P0 fix and some examples.

Juan Yunis

I'll write more about everything when I start the trials, be patient. Complicated things cannot be done quickly :)

Yuri Bubliy

Also is there a way to report which bios features and settings an active profile is modifying?

S. D. G.

Yuri is the men 👍Great progress and i would not wonder, seeing 5250MHz for a 5950x, since it was peaking with my CO stettings there as well

Bluevisionart

nvm realiced it was a minimum of 4950 Hello I'm stupid

What about Zen3 r5 that can do 5000 or 5025 (any way to do that on those?)

Me too WHEA counter: 2

SpartA

Hey guys! Do you know what WHEA counter is? I saw this when i used ctr. More exactly the message was “WHEA counter: 2”

Wow ! im speechless was trying to get cuvre optimizer to sustain higher clock with poor results this is great new thank you Yuri !

Is this a single core scramble from core to core? Cinebench scores yes, but real performance difference?? Sounds great tho. Thank you for your work.

S. D. G.

Exciting times!

Can't wait to test it. From my testing not all 5600x like 4850 single core speeds on the preferred core. But most of the times I saw that the preffered core was one of the worst cores in the system :( it would be great if we could manually select the best core and let the system know to use that

Frank van de Pol

No, it will be a manual profile, which is superior to Curve, but it will be able to switch to Curve mode. It will be created during the diagnostic phase. That is, it will not take up your time :)

Yuri Bubliy

Amazing! Cannot wait! Could you also include the HW info in your picture :) i am curios what system/motherboard are you running as well the temp you are having! Cheers

Xdrqgol

Great news! Thank you Yuri!

Now, THAT I am interested in! Great news! I have been fiddling with PBO Curve optimization on 2 different systems of mine with mixed results, so any form of automatic optimization for both multi-core and single-core performance is music to my ears :)

GregT

Awesome Yuri!!! Did you manage that with curve optimizer or did you find a way to circumvent AMD's restrictions?
