I’m back at my painting desk after what has been a hard string of weekends. My marathon race in Toronto, battling a cold, body recovery, and a weekend workshop in Naniamo; to finally be back in my studio chair and continuing Azmodai. The additions of his smoke is the final soft texture to this model and will be a tutorial feature for his Part 2. Giving you all an inside look into the process of layering, stippling, glazing, and combining it with leading strokes to give it movement. This model is really all about various textures and a tightly controlled colour palette, something that has been really enjoyable to express and fitting with the season now into fall.

Of course for all of you awaiting the blue steel NMM Stormcast challenge video, it’s in the works right now :) So stay the course and I’ll be happy to present it to you when the new subject is ready! So if you’re already deep into the challenge right now, get that nmm practice in with the first 2 parts. Because we will be building on those lessons and getting you ready for the most challenging one yet!
