DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS

As you may know (or maybe not, if this is your first time around here, hehe), we have a secondary project page on Itch.io for the early access versions of Text Your Life so our "Pizza Menu" tier patreons can easily download the updated game! We’ll send every subscriber, through a private message here on Patreon, the link to access said Itch.io page along with a password that you’ll be asked to enter when you click on the link. So be sure to check your messages! 🥰

**Note for new subscribers: If you don't receive our message as soon as you subscribe, it's probably because we're sleeping. Our time zone is “GMT +1”, so keep that in mind when subscribing! We'll send the message as soon as possible, promise! 😬

The download process is really easy, but in case any of you is having trouble with it, here are the steps you should follow:

1) Click on the link and enter the password. The Early Access page of the game will appear then on your screen.

2) On the section called “Download”, you’ll see three different versions of the game available for download: Android, Windows, Mac. Once you click on the Download button of the version you prefer, the archives will start to download on your device.

3) Now just install the new .apk on your phone, or extract the downloaded files on your PC, and you can start playing! This time, old saves wont work properly due to a critical bug we had to fix. Sorry guys! We know starting from scratch is not what you expected 😟 Make sure to read the “Important notice” section below to make sure you follow the correct steps to start over!

4) Don’t forget to check the community board on the Itch.io page (it’s at the bottom), in case you need to report a bug, or if you just want to comment on the new content! And you can also do it on our Discord server, there’s also a channel over there that’s reserved for Patreons only! 🩷

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE ⚠️

Due to the nature of a particularly annoying bug that we have had to solve (one that affected friendship and romance percentages, and personality bars), all players must start a new game from the beginning with this update. 🚫💾 We sincerely apologize for making you start over! 😭

It is REALLY important that you follow the next steps so you won’t encounter any problems while playing the new update:

-On Android:

• Make sure to uninstall the previous version of TYL before installing the new version.

• Then, once the new version is installed, go to your device's Settings, find the "Apps" or "Applications" menu, select the TYL app, and then go to its "Storage" or "Storage & cache" section and hit the "Clear Data" option.

• Then, click the TYL app icon and, once the main menu of the game is loaded, go to the “Settings” screen and hit the “Change language” option. This might seem strange, but this step will ensure there’s no old data left on your device.

• You can start playing now!

-On PC:

• Make sure you delete every archive of the old version of the game before downloading the new version archives.

• Then, once the new version archives are downloaded, start the game and, when the main menu is loaded, go to the “Settings” screen and hit the “Change language” option. This might seem strange, but this step will ensure there’s no old data left on your device.

• You can start playing now!

TEXT YOUR LIFE - VERSION 1.3 CONTENT

(This is, in part, a copy-paste from our previous posts, but also includes some more details on the game’s new features! Make sure to check it if you’re interested!)

📖 ​Story content: Chapter 3 is added in full! 35,000 words, 260 new choices, and 1 hour and 30 minutes of added playtime for each playthrough. It is a VERY replayable chapter, so we recommend you do it to be able to see all the routes that are already poking their little heads out with this update!

➕➕ Improvements included in this version:

• 👀 Previously selected choices will now show over a grey background! This feature was suggested by one of our Discord members (thank you, Q! 🥰), and it will hopefully help you all when replaying the game! You can also deactivate this feature in the “Settings” screen, or even reset it so you can start over from scratch in new playthroughs!

• 📝 Continue button - Quick save: Now, the game will automatically quick save when the player exits to the main menu, and right before every set of choices 🥳 A “Continue” button will then appear in the main menu, which will load the most recent quick save and will allow you to continue playing right where you left off.

  So now, you won’t have to start from the beginning if you forgot to manually save, or if the game is closed by mistake or crashes (which can happen mostly on Android when switching between apps). We still recommend manually saving every once in a while, though, or if you want to come back to a specific point in the story, because every quick save overwrites the previous one.

• 🔝🖱️ Scrolling up to check previous messages mid-convo: Until now, scrolling up to check previous messages in an ongoing conversation was a pain, as every received message would force down the screen to display the most recent part of the convo. But now, that’s a thing from the past! Scroll up with no fear, our beloveds 😎 Hehe. An icon will also appear on the bottom right of the screen when you do so, press it and you’ll be instantly back to the bottom of the conversation!

  There’s still a limit to the number of messages you can scroll up to mid convo, though, so if you want to check the whole conversation, you’ll have to do so by checking that chatroom when it’s not active from the chat list. Which leads us to the next improvement…

• 🔀 Access to the chat list (history) in the middle of an ongoing convo: Access the chat list, which serves as history of every conversation from the current chapter, whenever you want by clicking the “back” arrow on the top left of the chatroom. Even if you are in the middle of chatting with your crazy fictional friends (or enemies 🤭)!

  Remember the history resets after every chapter, though. We can’t really avoid this 😖 The chats are so long and full of image assets that it would take too long to load if it didn’t, and it would get laggy when scrolling through it.

• 👸 MC’s name will now show in color during chats and calls when the name or nickname chosen by the player happens to be the same as any other character name or nickname. This was also brought to our attention by one of our Discord members! (Thank you, Arcissen! 🥰)

• 📊 Personality bars now also show the percentage, so you can build your MC’s character more easily!

• 🔔 New message notification upgrade: It will let you know who messaged you by showing the person’s/group’s name and profile picture!

• 💅 Some assets have been changed and now look better than before: like the “Send message” bar on the bottom, and the system notifications background.

🐛💥 Bug fixes:

• Reported typos fixed! (Thank you to everyone who took the time to report those pesky little bastards! Hehe).

• Bug that caused calls’ music and sound effects to keep playing after returning to main menu, fixed!

• Major bug that let friendship, romance and personality traits points go above 100% and below 0% is now FIXED (We finally got rid of it 😭 We’re crying of pure happiness!). Please, if any of you where to have this same problem again (please nooo haha), let us know!

• Bug that prevented characters’ profile gallery from being scrolled down with mouse – fixed!

INSTRUCCIONES DE DESCARGA

Como ya sabéis (o igual no, si es vuestro primer acceso anticipado, jiji), tenemos una página adicional de Text Your Life en Itch.io, en la que nuestros amados Patreons del nivel "Pizza Menu" podréis descargar la actualización mediante acceso anticipado. A través de un mensaje directo aquí en Patreon, os enviaremos un link para acceder a esa página en Itch.io, junto con la contraseña que os pedirá para poder acceder a ella. ¡Así que estad pendientes de vuestros mensajes! 🥰

** Nota para los nuevos suscriptores: si no os llega nuestro mensaje en un breve espacio de tiempo, seguramente será porque estamos durmiendo. Nuestra zona horaria es “GMT +1”, ¡así que tenedlo en cuenta a la hora de suscribiros! Enviaremos el mensaje lo antes posible, ¡prometido! 😬

El proceso de descarga de TYL es muy sencillo, pero por si acaso hay alguien que no está familiarizado con Itch.io, os dejamos por aquí los pasos que tenéis que seguir para hacerlo:

1) Haced click en el link e introducid la contraseña. En ese momento se os abrirá la página que hemos creado para descargar el juego.

2) Veréis una sección llamada “Download”, con todas las versiones del juego (Android, Windows y Mac). Cuando pulséis sobre el botón de Download correspondiente a la versión que os interese, el archivo se descargará en vuestro dispositivo.

3) ¡Ya podéis jugar! Tan solo instalad la nueva .apk en vuestro teléfono o extraed el archivo descargado en vuestro ordenador. Esta vez, los guardados antiguos no funcionarán correctamente debido a un bug importante que hemos tenido que solucionar. ¡Lo sentimos, chicos! Sabemos que empezar desde cero no es lo que esperabais 😟 ¡Aseguraos de leer la sección “Aviso importante” más abajo para seguir los pasos correctos para empezar desde cero!

4) No os olvidéis de echarle un vistazo al apartado de la Comunidad (está al final de la página de Itch.io) en el caso de que queráis reportar un bug, o si simplemente queréis comentar el contenido de la actualización. También podéis hacerlo en nuestro servidor de Discord, ¡y allí tenéis un canal reservado únicamente para Patreons! 🩷

⚠️ AVISO IMPORTANTE ⚠️

Debido a la naturaleza de un bug especialmente fastidioso que hemos tenido que solucionar (uno que afectaba a los porcentajes de amistad y romance, y a las barras de personalidad), todos los jugadores deberán iniciar una partida nueva desde el principio con esta actualización. 🚫💾 ¡Lo sentimos mucho, chicos! 😭

Es MUY importante que sigáis los siguientes pasos para que no tengáis ningún problema cuando comencéis a jugar la nueva actualización:

-En Android:

• Aseguraros de desinstalar la versión anterior de TYL antes de instalar la nueva.

• Entonces, una vez la nueva versión esté instalada, id a “Ajustes”, luego a “Aplicaciones”, seleccionad la aplicación de TYL y luego “Almacenamiento”. Una vez ahí, seleccionad “Borrar datos”.

• Después, iniciad el juego y, una vez el menú principal os aparezca, id a la pantalla de “Ajustes” y apretad en “Cambiar idioma”. Puede que esto parezca algo raro, pero es este paso el que se asegurará de que no quede ningún dato de la versión antigua en vuestro dispositivo.

• ¡Ya podéis empezar a jugar!

-En PC:

• Aseguraros de que borráis todos los archivos de la versión antigua de TYL antes de descargar los archivos de la nueva versión.

• Después, una vez descargados los nuevos, iniciad el juego y, cuando el menú principal os aparezca, id a la pantalla de “Ajustes” y apretad en “Cambiar idioma”. Puede que esto parezca algo raro, pero es este paso el que se asegurará de que no quede ningún dato de la versión antigua en vuestro dispositivo.

• ¡Ya podéis empezar a jugar!

TEXT YOUR LIFE - VERSION 1.3 – CONTENIDO

(Esto es, en parte, un copia-pega de nuestros posts anteriores, ¡pero también incluye más detalles sobre las novedades de la versión 1.3! Aseguraros de leerlo si estáis interesados.)

📖 C​ontenido de historia: ¡Se añade el Capítulo 3 por completo! 35.000 palabras, 260 nuevas opciones, y 1 hora y 30 minutos de tiempo de juego añadido por cada playthrough. Es un capítulo MUY rejugable, ¡así que os recomendamos hacerlo para poder ver todas las rutas que ya asoman la patita con esta actualización! Jiji.

➕➕ Mejoras incluidas en esta versión:

• 👀 ¡Las opciones previamente seleccionadas se mostrarán ahora sobre un fondo de color gris! Esta mejora fue sugerida por uno de nuestros miembros de Discord (¡gracias, Q! 🥰), ¡y esperamos que esto os ayude cuando rejuguéis el juego! También podéis desactivar esta función en la pantalla de “Ajustes”, ¡o incluso podéis resetearla si lo que queréis es empezar completamente de cero en nuevas partidas!

• 📝 Botón de Continuar – Guardado rápido: Ahora, el juego hará un guardado rápido de forma automática cuando el jugador vuelva al menú principal, y también antes de mostrarse un nuevo set de opciones 🥳 Un botón de “Continuar” aparecerá entonces en el menú principal, el cual permitirá cargar el guardado rápido más reciente y os permitirá continuar jugando donde lo dejasteis. Así que ahora no tendréis que comenzar desde el principio si olvidasteis guardar manualmente, o si el juego fue cerrado por error o se crasheó (lo cual puede ocurrir a veces en Android cuando se cambia de una aplicación a otra y se deja el juego en segundo plano).

  Recomendamos, sin embargo, seguir guardando manualmente de vez en cuando, o en aquellas partes del juego a las que queráis volver más tarde, ya que cada guardado rápido sustituye al anterior.

• 🔝🖱️ Desplazarse hacia arriba para releer mensajes previos a mitad de una conversación activa: Hasta ahora, desplazarse hacia arriba durante una conversación activa era desesperante, ya que cada mensaje nuevo recibido forzaba a la pantalla a volver a la parte inferior para mostrar la parte más reciente de la conversación. Pero ahora, ¡eso es una cosa del pasado! Scrollead hacia arriba sin miedo, querid@s 😎 Jeje. Además, un icono aparecerá en la parte inferior derecha de la pantalla cuando lo hagáis, y haciéndole click, ¡volveréis en un periquete a la parte inferior de la conversación!

  Aun así, todavía hay un límite en el número de mensajes que se pueden leer al scrollear hacia arriba en mitad en un chat activo. Así que, si quieres releer la conversación completa, tendrás que hacerlo accediendo a ese chat cuando no esté activo desde la lista de conversaciones. Lo que nos lleva a la siguiente mejora…

• 🔀 Acceso a la lista de chats (historial) a mitad de un chat en proceso: Accede a la lista de chats, que sirve como historial de todas las conversaciones que han tenido lugar a lo largo del capítulo, ¡siempre que quieras! Tan sólo haz clic en la flecha de “atrás” que se sitúa en la parte superior izquierda del chat. ¡Incluso cuando estás a mitad de chater con tus tarados amigos ficticios (o enemigos 🤭)!

  Recordad, sin embargo, que el historial se resetea con cada cambio de capítulo. Esto es algo que no podemos evitar 😖 Los chats son tan largos y están tan llenos de recursos de imagen que, si no lo hiciéramos, tardaría mucho en cargar e incluso se ralentizaría y atascaría cuando intentéis desplazaros por él.

• El nombre de MC ahora se mostrará con color en los chats y las llamadas cuando el jugador haya elegido un nombre o apodo exactamente igual al de alguno de los personajes. ¡De esto también nos avisó uno de nuestros miembros de Discord! (¡Gracias, Arcissen! 🥰)

• Las barras de personalidad ahora también muestran el porcentaje, ¡así que ahora será más fácil construir la personalidad de vuestra MC!

• 🔔 Notificación de nuevo mensaje mejorada: Ahora podréis saber quién os ha enviado un mensaje, ¡ya que mostrará la foto y el nombre de la persona/grupo en cuestión!

• 💅 Algunos recursos de imagen han sido cambiados y ahora lucen mucho mejor que antes: como por ejemplo la barra de envío de mensajes en la parte inferior del chat, y el fondo de las notificaciones del sistema.

🐛💥 Bug solucionados:

• ¡Typos reportados corregidos! (¡Gracias a todos los que os habéis tomado el tiempo de reportar a estos pequeños monstruitos escurridizos! Jeje).

• Bug que hacía que la música y efectos de sonido de las llamadas se siguieran reproduciendo después de volver al menú principal - ¡Solucionado!

• Bug importante que hacía que los porcentajes de amistad, romance y personalidad bajaran del 0% y superaran el 100% - ¡SOLUCIONADO! (Por fin nos hemos librado de él 😭 ¡Lloramos de pura felicidad!). Por favor, si alguien se encontrara de nuevo con este problema (por favor noooo jaja), ¡hacérnoslo saber!

• Bug que impedía que las galerías de fotos de los perfiles de los personajes se pudieran scrollear con el ratón - ¡Solucionado!
