High fidelity tyres | v1.2
Added 2025-08-26 07:54:37 +0000 UTCbruh, this mod has really taken it out of me!

I took the old tyre contructor, and massively modified it to not only have more physics, but also variable control over a bunch of stuff :)
this took 3 weeks. The free version on the repository will be majorly simplified compared to this one.
to use it, put the zip file into your mods folder, and in your parts picker, select "Additional Modification">"High Polly Wheels" and by default it'll give you sidewalls, and 2 tread subdivisions.
From there, you can see it in action with ctrl+T, and to mess with the settings, go to tuning, and you'll see "A1 Tyres", and there's a boat load of settings in there to mess with (including more tread resolution).
Known issues:
- top speed isn't as high
- if there's wheels without tyres, the mod will have to run with standard tyres
- the ATV 4x4 wydra won't move much
- I've decided to not play with things like "noLoadCoef", it's beyond the scope of this mod, but just know you're getting a little more grip
- because tyres don't define if they're radial, or cross plys, I haven't set anything up specifically for that, you'll have to play with the tuning for each tyre
- the deformation of tyres will often look a bit weird, and that's just because these tyres a little more like sacks of air, instead of a square with limited deform (like standard tyres)
I do think the devs will probably do something like this one day, but in the mean time, you have my mod :) Please don't make videos about it until my video comes out, and please don't share it to people who haven't paid. However, I'm not going to go "hall monitor" on you, you've paid for it, I'd just like to not have the wind taken out of my video's sails (which might take a month to edit, who knows lol). In the mean time, feel free to leave comments here about your experience with it, I'd love to hear.
This is my magnum opus, and it's only 13kb.... figure that one out atheists
Comments
Upon some investigation, I found the 15hz in ffb equalizer effected it. Bumped it down now it seems mostly fine, so its ffb tuning not the mod(I kinda suspected as much)

2025-10-23 16:09:29 +0000 UTCThis is fantastic! Thank you, I believe you're doing the most important work being done on this game and you are not even a dev of it! Will gladly pay for a few months for this mod alone! ....just 1 question, does everyone's wheel shake violently at high speeds(well 120mph highish some of you are crazy). I've honestly just started troubleshooting but direction would be greatly appreciated if available. (Moza R5 usually smooth) but when I get up in speed it feels like gravel.

2025-09-25 23:20:30 +0000 UTCI love this mod so much, it's genuinely awesome. My old friend showed me BeamNG and introduced me to your channel. It's so underrated. This mod is GENUINELY game changing.

2025-09-22 14:42:30 +0000 UTCI really feel like this mod will take off with gradual work and updates. Thank you for contributing such a piece of art to a game that could really use it.

2025-09-22 08:40:03 +0000 UTCthanks for taking the time to help others :) I've recorded a tutorial video, hopefully it'll help everyone understand the settings better

2025-09-22 05:26:18 +0000 UTCif you want to add it to your version, open up vehicles/common/high_polly_wheels.jbeam and in all the "slotType" parts (currently there's 3 instances of "slotType"), and add the slot type that you want (you'll have to find out what slot you want)

2025-09-22 05:24:14 +0000 UTCyep, I have a solution, and it'll be a part of the next update

2025-09-22 05:21:46 +0000 UTCany way to get on modded cars? like as a license plate thing over modification? or can anyone explain how one would add this to mods?

2025-09-22 03:57:12 +0000 UTCunfortunately breaks BeamNG's spikestrips to not spawn

2025-09-21 22:16:41 +0000 UTCNew settings for increased stability at high speed version for 1.1 without touching node weight or friction: Front & Rear Tyre Tread Subdivision = 2n Weight = 100% Overall Stiffness = -17% Tread Anti Bulge = -95% Tread Anti Squish = -85% Tyrewall Bulge = 0.1m TyreWall Middle Radius = 0m Tyre Resolution = 18n Radial Stiffness = 0% Tread Corner Stiffness = -75% Tyrewall CrossBar = -95% (A little bit of a cheat, but it helps slightly) Wall Stiffner = -55% Friction Compensation = 100% SlidingFriction Compensation = 100% Paired Node = 0x Triangle wall or Square walls 0x These settings are still a little strange for tire behavior, and should only be treated only as a starting point. They still seem fairly stable for <300MPH (>480 km/h), and don't have the sudden loss of longitudinal grip at speed. Good luck; have fun!
Sawyer Clark
2025-09-21 14:29:18 +0000 UTCNote: these settings are only applicable to version 1. 1.1 has made some changes making these specific settings unusable.

2025-09-21 13:01:25 +0000 UTCFill, not sure if you have thought about it, but using it in Multiplayer gives access to the mod for everyone. Will you be excluding MP Servers to use this Mod?

2025-09-21 10:37:10 +0000 UTCIf anyone is having instability issues, here are my baseline settings for tire stability: Tyre Tread Subdivision = 2n Weight = 0% Overall Stiffness = -10% Tread Anti Bulge = -95% Tread Anti Squish = -95% Tyrewall Bulge = 0m TyreWall Middle Radius = 0m Tyre Resolution = 18n Radial Stiffness = 0% Tread Corner Stiffness = -95% Tyrewall CrossBar = -85% (A little bit of a cheat, but it helps) Wall Stiffner = -70% It's not perfect, but it's a nice starting point for high speed stability. >300 MPH (>480 km/h) I also must mention that these high-poly tires are so much more dynamic for drifting! The stock BeamNG tires tend to be in a grip state, or a slip state. These have more rolloff in grip! I'm really impressed by your mod, Fillman! Excellent work!
Sawyer Clark
2025-09-21 09:56:46 +0000 UTCyeah, I'm adding a new option for this, but it's popping because it's becoming unstable, so keep this in mind. I'd suggest increasing the weight slider, or decreasing some of the stiffness values
fillman86
2025-09-21 00:04:41 +0000 UTCbecause I had to put in every available vehicle name, it is limited to those cars. However, you can modify the slotType to include one that your mod car has

2025-09-21 00:02:40 +0000 UTCtires seem to pop much easier but was wondering if there were a way for you to increase the strength in the next update? (you better make an update, this is your best mod imo)

2025-09-20 15:23:27 +0000 UTCIncredibely good, how to solve the fact that on mods like F4, we can't find the high poly wheels ?
Baptiste Dupont
2025-09-20 10:49:10 +0000 UTCI love it. I'm still working out what all I need to change in the tuning menu but other than that I really love it. And it works on modded tires if that vehicle supports the additional modification.

2025-09-20 09:30:07 +0000 UTCno sorry, it is, unfortunately each tyre takes a really long time to set up. If I'd thought to set up a wheel, there's hundreds to pick from :P where would I start? lol
fillman86
2025-09-20 08:07:16 +0000 UTCDo you have any tuning presets? no matter how i adjust it all cars feel really sloppy and fluid and loose and spongey. "im on a steering wheel"

2025-09-20 04:14:50 +0000 UTCactually yeah, I'd love if you made a video, and put comments about it. If you do, tag me in the description, and I'll get a notice about it, and I'll definitely check it out
fillman86
2025-09-20 02:47:55 +0000 UTChmmm interesting, that one will take a little more time to diagnose, because I'd not noticed it before. There's one more update to this mod, for everyone who purchased it (I'll make a text post here, on twitter, and on youtube). But that's a little bit deeper. I think it might be related to the precompression groups, maybe

2025-09-18 23:26:43 +0000 UTCIs there a way you could add an option to make the tyres indestructible? it's just that I'm tweaking the settings to get them to feel just right, but doing this to any extreme degree seems to make them deflate/explode very easily. I'm absolutely loving it though. Seeing how the adjustments change the handling characteristics is endlessly entertaining. Thanks so much for making this

2025-09-18 01:24:38 +0000 UTCWhen the settings are dialed in, and at speeds under 150mph, the handling characteristics feel great! I noticed that at high speeds the outside tire wall starts expanding, and the tread and inner wall do not expand. I wish I understood well enough to help troubleshoot lol

2025-09-17 14:30:28 +0000 UTCAlso, the Scintilla just seems unstable with the mod in general.
Synthos
2025-09-16 21:44:23 +0000 UTCHello, I love the mod! The only thing I have noticed is that a lot of the low profile tires seem to have an issue where they suddenly loose grip for seemingly no reason. Like they will just start sliding if the car gets over a certain speed, especially the Scintilla. Is there something in the tuning settings that helps this?
Synthos
2025-09-16 21:43:59 +0000 UTCAmazing Job Can't wait to try it on my steering wheel to see how it feels
