New Project: Violated Angels - Montauk 110
Added 2023-06-26 13:26:40 +0000 UTCMe and my girlfriend violet (who goes by vi a. and who I collaborated with on a EP last year) have started a new band on the more dark ambient side of the spectrum, but still with a dash of harsh noise (see above). It sounds like a combination of both of our projects.
The main inspiration behind it was the (now-saturated) idea of liminal spaces and dissatisfaction with the current attempts to translate this aesthetic and mood into music. As violet put it, most of it is poorly-done vapourwave. Furthermore we were inspired by living in various horrid rentals which certainly embodied the aesthetic (see below, our working album cover).
I also found that adding a narrative element to songwriting very inspiring. It makes it a lot more than mere drones and noise. Something much more interesting to scream about than my own stupid problems.
Here are some excerpts from out upcoming LP which will be a story-driven concept album with writing and multimedia work by our good friend Halcy who is essentially our third member, absent of any lyric-based vocals as the story-writing is still under way (but some atmospheric vocals are present above).
Since we have some ARG-style ideas for promoting and worldbuilding with this (and possible future Violated Angels released) so keep quiet about it! However, I don't expect much hype for it tho since it isn't Uboa. Since I am in getting-album-done purgatory and am not releasing any new Uboa projects until the LP is out, this is a good way to keep busy and do something more collaborative.
It's about a girl called Valarie. She can't leave the house. She is the only tenant and human residing there, but she isn't alone.
