Minor update to chapter 6
Added 2025-02-02 14:03:43 +0000 UTCHey guys, just a heads up that I've updated The East Block to v0.6.3. This update does not contain any new content and just fixes a few minor bugs, and has some adjustments to dialog and some images, so if you've already played chapter 6, there's nothing new to see and your saves will work fine going forward. The links are being updated and can be found on your membership page.

I won't be making scenes that are completely different, in different environments, but enough will be different to consider it a different scene, if that makes any sense. So as to not require literally double the work. Like maybe a third or more of the renders will work between both scenes.

I do like some "completely" different paths for increased replayability, but at least some differences other than some wording sounds nice. But on the other hand, don't do it too much. I am not sure that adding some exclusive scenes in chater 8 an onwards would boost the replayability greatly. And it will double the ymount of time for developing that scene without surely doubleling its playtime (So you see, I am arguing in circles :D ) . But don't get me wrong, not every game needs replayability or vastly different paths, if story as it is good - and that's the case with yours :) .

The first chapter to have exclusive content based on past choices will be chapter 8 onward. This isn't completely set in stone, but that's the plan at least.

But even as a player, I always feel torn: "Come on, I really wanne see her get it" vs. "oh no, let me long for it even longer" :D . As with Christmas: The special day would not feel so special if it would just arrive by accident in the next two days. And yes, I can relate to that delegation problem. Even the best helping hand would not be a completely sufficient substitute and man, there are not that many good helping hands out there waiting to work for a reasonable amount of money. Well, you at least have the advantage of not having to care about that many different plots... even though you seem to have added a little fork there recently. Will you really spread the story, or just consider the little difference in sharing? (Don't spoiler too much, though, please :D ) .

2025-02-03 01:05:10 +0000 UTCThanks a lot for the feedback. Honestly if it were up to me, things would progress much more slowly as I love a slow burn as well. However I have to balance everything and make the game appealing for the most people I can while still enjoying the content myself, which is very important. I don't want to make a game that is too drawn out though and if I went at the pace I would ideally prefer, I think a lot of people would lose interest as I get enough complaints about the pace as it is. The love between Luke and Kathryn is very important to me and is one of the best aspects of the game imo, and the perverse aspects make for a compelling dichotomy. As for speed of updates, I wish I could make them faster, but as you said, I can only work so fast with the time that I have. Maybe if I hired someone to help I could do that, but I just don't work well with others and just can't see that working, for me at least.

I was one of the guys loving your character development and portrayal, but also criticising the jump when she gave a blowjob as the commercial. Having played 6.3 now (I think directly from V4 or something), I have to say you really did a decent job. I still think you could have slowed down a little around the advertising stuff (even though I understand that it has something to do with the city's water ;) ) . But I am a slow burn lover and maybe not the average gamer and I just talk about one or two steps slower, but after all a good speed. And now, going on after this one giant step, you are doing well. Not too fast, still stopping at the right time. And the major decisions we had to make in chapter 6 feel really important yet the outcome is believable (for a porn game ;) ) and the characters still behave full of love. I really have gotten a fan of you keeping their love alive because at first, it just feels good and relatable, but then it also makes the small "betrayals" counting more. Just played another novel with a nice girl getting corrupt and I just dont care about her. And it also does not feel to impact her relationship or her conciense. But you are doing a great job. A good balance between getting mean and staying full of love. My only wish is faster updates, but this won't come as a surprise and is valid for almost all other VNs :D . And also nothing you can do much about.
