On the bright side, all those Oikawa stans that cant hear a single negative opinion on him despite him being an early 'antagonist' /obstacle for karasuno will probably be overjoyed if they go all empathy on Oikawa immediately :D

I like the dark edgy shows as much as the next person but Haikyuu is just pure serotonin. It just give u that energy to face this dark world 🙏🥹

I love that you are paying attention to the characters and trying to understand them, even if they are not being the most likable (*cough Tsukki cough*). However, Im just mildly worried that they might miss out on some amazing character growth moments if they brush every conflict off as "aww its okay they are going to love each other!" at this point. I know you guys go deep in character analysis, so for example, I think its okay to acknowledge that Kageyama has some issues that are most definitely not because he secretly admires Hinata lol. I don't know if i explained myself right but I guess... I want them to be a little harsher (?) on the boys. Even though I myself am very protective of karasuno and wouldn't tolerate any slander hahaha. Anyway please dont let my comment make you enjoy the show any less! im only saying it cuz I would love to hear your thoughts on the character conflicts and dynamics as the show is presenting them and with a less biased (?) perspective.

I kinda wish you could binge the show so I can binge your reactions. This show has SO much depth and emotion, you simply have no idea. The author was a player and huge volleyball fan. The show is more accurate and realistic than your typical shounen.

I watched all of Blue Lock but just can’t really get behind the concept since I mostly watch sports anime for the team dynamics. I also think a lot of the dialogue is cringe. One can also say this about HQ but at least it’s an inspirational cringe and not a “Im gonna murder your entire family if I don’t score this goal” kinda cringe ya know?

Basketball became a household sport and grew immensly in places like the Philippines, where the NBA is huge nowadays Haikyuu is of course much more recent and the Impact it had on Japan and globally is immense and it will grow even further with so many people growing up on it now, but Slam Dunk without social media and global streaming did some crazy numbers. 170 Million manga volumes and 7th seventh best-selling manga of all time was already insane for sports manga at that time and doing that with "just" 31 volumes is even more impressive

2024-08-02 20:46:55 +0000 UTCSugawara/Suga (gray-haired guy who helps Hinata) is such a sweetheart, definitely one of my favourite characters who's sometimes overlooked, I love him so much T^T I laughed so hard when I saw LM's insults almost spilling out only for them to make the active effort to stop themselves. All they ended up saying is "shut up" and I just couldn't stop laughing at that whole scene. Tsukishima/Tsukki (blond with glasses) is definitely an interesting character to follow, it takes time to warm up to him compared to other Karasuno members - depends on the person tbh - but I'm looking forward to see how they are going to interact with him!

I checked the wiki again, and there are about 240 characters in total, and you should be able to remember 30 of them by name, as they get a bit more screentime than the others.
